Happy New Year 2013!
I made the osechi ryori again this year.

I spent a lot less time making it this year.

Perhaps practice does help after all [this is my 3rd year making the entire thing by myself]
Some of you asked on instagram how i make such a tiny portion of each element.
Well i dont XD a lot of the stuff i make doesnt fit in the jubako container but we eat it too XD
The jubako is more presentation XD See here is a photo of us eating the leftovers for dinner.

is it ever troublesome to wash any of the decorative pieces?

aww u are super sweet!
its not, i soak all the items including the boxes overnight in soapy water [its not good to scrub the lacquer pieces in case it gets scratched]
