This is becoming such a DIY/Tezukuri Blog..what’s going on!?

Today i’m going to do my long overdue Deco Cosme Tutorial aka the Bling Bling tutorial
If you are decorating phones/ipods/laptops aka electronics or DENki, then its called DecoDEN
[See my previous works here]
But today i am decorating something Cosmetic related [see its beauty related] hence Deco Cosme.

Anyway as we all know i am not very good at tutorials [or reviews or anything for that matter]
So just bear with me XD

Here’s what i am decorating [eyeshadow palette] and my inspiration is from the new esprique precious compact case.
deco9 gorgeous compact from esprique de kose released 13.2

Everyone’s number 1 question is about the glue so here is a close up of the glue + magical tip stick i am using
sunhoseki05

Ok so lets start
deco
You probably dont need that many pairs of tweezers, i go a bit overboard.

Clean the surface of whatever you are decorating.
deco1
We’ll start by covering the “words”

Put a drop of glue and select the crystal you want.
Here’s a close up pic
deco2
The magical tip stick is great! its a stick with a little double sided foamy tape at the end [such a A-HA! idea]
I think you can make your own without purchasing it.

Anyway once u covered the words, put a few random drops of glue
deco3
Wow i didnt realise how long my nails are..till i saw this pic XD!!!

In general, try to put the big crystals in the beginning to space them out as they look kinda cramped and weird if there are far too many lumped together
deco4

Fill in the gaps with the smaller crystals [you can use some of the few big ones to even it out]
deco5
Start from one end. You shouldnt spread glue all over it right away. Its messy and your glue might dry up.
I started from the left.

Right side and middle done
deco6
Its looking pretty similar to the esprique precious compact by now [or maybe its just me?]

But i chose these sea-like colors as i wanted to do a bubble effect which is quite popular right now

The finished product

Opened up

What do you think?
Hope this tutorial is useful to someone. i’m not very good at explaining things but if you have any questions, just ask! And here are some links on where to buy materials [prices found there, please check as it varies in size etc]

dekoden.com
they ship overseas too! here’s the english enquiry page.

For those in Japan, try sunhoseki.com
Note all my materials above are from SunHoseki but i have visited the store front of dekoden in Nippori as well.

i see a lot of questions about protecting surfaces of things u wish to decorate
if you intend to decorate your ipod or ds, i reccomend that you buy a case and decorate that instead.
Those with phones in Japan, we can also buy a case covering as well on dekoden. [sorry no idea about phones outside of japan]

Lastly, you can also invest in this
Its 180yen and you stick it on whatever you want to decorate
You can easily remove it later with no stains/scratches or worries

its not a screen protector or a thin layer of plastic, its more like a rubbery layer i think
