Before you begin reading, i have to admit, this is hardly a proper post about my trip to seoul nor even the beginning it. I have far too many photos to sort through and not enough time [more on this later]. Dont really have time to do a whole haul post either but i picked out a few things i bought i wanted to talk about XD

Shopping for cosmetics in seoul….you never run out of cotton wool…
seoul03
They always give you boxes of cotton wool as gifts XD

One of the top items i like to buy whenever i go seoul…spectacles and contact lenses
They are far cheaper in Seoul than they are in Tokyo. Esp spectacles..they cost less than 1/3 compared to Tokyo. This time round i didnt pick up any new pairs since i just got a pair made when i last went to Seoul [i went twice earlier this year]
Bought new contact lenses!
stuff03

The lady at the shop told me these arrived the day before only and she only had sample boxes. I really wanted to buy them as they look really good on! They are purplish in color and very comfortable. Since i bought so many things , she ended up giving me the 2 sample boxes [10 pairs!!]
stuff04

The circle lens i bought, the gray tone from these are amazing. Very natural not fake looking like most colored circle lenses.
stuff06

Also decided to try out the Acuvue brand Circle lenses [i bought a month's supply ie 30 pairs]
stuff07

For those of you wanting to purchase such items in Seoul, i reccomend you look around respectable opticians. They are plenty around and those in tourist areas like myeongdong will have someone that speaks english. You can usually get your spectacles made on the same day [no matter how severe ur bad eyesight or astigmatism is] I once got a pair made in 40 mins! This time round, they took 2 hours to make the husband’s. Contact lenses, circle lenses are usually in stock and can be bought and taken away on the spot.

I didnt go to the store i went the last time in Apujeong as Min wasnt with me. Since neither husband nor i have acceptable levels of korean [ie none] we went to the one under our hotel in COEX. The lady in there spoke english just fine.
stuff08
Store details as printed on the contact lens container they gave me.

Ok ok back to beauty products…remember this?
stuff13
I did a review before but anyway i grew to really like it as i had brought it to UK and used it for a month. So this time round,i wanted to make sure i buy more in Seoul!

And i did!
stuff14
Yeah it sells so well, they came out with a HUGE pump bottle version. LOVEEE!

And since i get so many emails about bbcreams, i have to admit, i only bought 3 bottles this time round. [Excluding the ones i bought as gifts. ie 3 for myself] <– i already have..a lot.
stuff15

Also bought more vov washoff masks!
stuff25
Never tried charcoal before so extremely excited to give it a go XD [btw the four types above are my FAVEs amongst the many types available] i bought a box each <– 10 packets in a box

Speaking of masks, i am quite keen on these foot masks from etude house!
stuff21

And hand masks!
stuff22

Also going to try this foot mask from nature republic <– decided i love this brand, will blog more abt it soon
stuff23

Ok thats about all i am going to write abt stuff i bought in seoul for now, lets just say its not even 10% of what i bought and certainly not even 1% of everything i bought in seoul in my last 3 trips XD <– yes i am bad at blogging about my hauls.

But i gotta write about the mail love i recieved recently.

I finally finished my swap with Justine! <-- this is why i wont start new swaps with anyone, i have too many existing ones to finish hahahaha
pack01
I have been lemming for Angelika blush from NARS forEVER! They keep getting sold out whenever i try to buy it in Tokyo or HK!!! There is too much goodies in this box, gotta do a whole post soon

And the earrings i bought from Yasumi also arrived.
pack02
She sneakily threw in a whole bunch of other things too!

Obviously both ladies sent me farr too much and i need to take close up pics of everything but i am juggling 5 million things recently so please be patient with me! Nonetheless Thank you Justine and Yasumi!

Those of you in Tokyo, Banila Co, my fave cosmetic brand from Korea is opening up its first store in Japan right here in Jingumae Tokyo. I cant make it to the opening on Saturday [though i got an invite] but if you are in the area, go check them out!
seoul02

Last but not least, remember how i told u i am crazy busy with no time lately?

Well i just found out yesterday..i gotta go Hongkong on Saturday XD
stuff02
Yup flying off again. I think this is my fourth trip to HK this year and my 11th overseas trip this year. I dont tend to discuss what i do day to day so i wont explain why i travel so much either hahahah XD
I’ll have internet in Hongkong and will be there for about 2 weeks.

Will do one more blog post before i fly on Sat! Gotta go unpack and pack my luggage
In the meantime, stay safe and hope everyone is well
XOXO Yumeko

p.s if you are located in hk and would like to meetup, leave a comment or shoot me an email! i promise to bring scrumptious snacks from japan.

welcome back and lol to HK.. gosh you must know all the street in Hong Kong by now

btw you can check out Cameron road in TST next time, there’s tonnes of small boutique (in a hidden street where they sell ramen) like korea, or go to a shopping mall called GI.. lots of funky stuff

  2. Justine says:

    SOOOO not finished. HAHAHA.

The circle lenses are so pretty! Too bad I am afraid of contacts, lol. It’s a good thing I don’t wear glasses yet! Can’t wait to see you with the purple though, they look gorgeous!

And as I’ve said, I run out of cotton all the time – I need to buy more. There is no such thing as ‘branded’ cotton pads here, except for the Shiseido.

The apple cleanser looks sooo cute. And like it would smell good. And the masks! I promise to try at least one this week! Are the VOV ones supposed to be multi-use?

I still can’t believe that much fit into the box. I dont’ even remember packing it, hahaha.

I LOOOVE your earrings from Yasumi. Can’t wait to see the gold ones on!! And you should take a pic with the hair tie in as my hair is too short to ever wear one.

I love the stamps and decotape! I am learning how to emboss paper while I’m off, so I will be sure to send the nicest examples!

  3. sarah says:

  10. Miss.Friendz says:

  11. k* says:

i went into a nature republic store over the summer and they were handing our free black bean tea (i think?) cause it was a grand opening or something like that…

  16. amazzing post.. there was so much I was OOhhing and ahhhing over.. VOV masks seem to be really good since so many ppl have blogged about them and the packaging is so pretty! I’m totally into masking more frequently cause I’ve been a little fatigued.Nothing like a mask to perk up the skin. Tats an awesome swap btw and that apple juicy wash looks cute (first time I heard abt it)… U’re blog is a skincare and cosmetic wonderland!!

  17. Wei Leen says:

    Hi Yumeko,

Is there another Banila Co. counter / shop in korea airport? My husband will be dropping by the seoul airport to transit …. thought of calling him to do some shopping for me. Any suggestion what korea brands will be in the airport. Any etude? Any BB Creams.

    Thanks!

    • Bittenbefore says:

hi there! sorry there are no banila co stores in korea airport that i know of. there is etude though and is 7% cheaper than in korea. they have other bbcreams like missha i think. the dutyfree is mostly brands like history of whoo ie counter brands rather than drugstore brands or store brands like innisfree or faceshop

      • Wei Leen says:

Thanks for your reply…. Just want to tell you that I really enjoy reading your blog…and all your photos , their so beautifully taken.

  18. Rina says:

    • Bittenbefore says:

do share which stamps you like the most <3 sometimes i am lazy and prefer self inking ones but the normal rubber ones have the best designs right
i dont think i seen black raspberry!! i shall have to hunt for it next time <3

      • evie says:

yeah! i love those that are rubber stamps as i can choose the colour i like to stamp. haha i would always go those kids section in takashimaya to check up stamps! they would always order those cute and lovey stamps in many designs~~oh i like small stamps! cos i can “chop” them any where to brighten up my day=)

ooh btw i tried the apple juicy deep cleansing foam..it was good!..shall try the liquid one when i can find it XD

  40. bleusnow says:

Oh , I have not tried the Freshlook eye ring design dailies. Let me know if it looks great?
I don’t favour Acuvue Define much. Doens’t seem to do much to my eyes.. *tsk tsk*

I just got a new pair of specs too! Will blog more about it wen I have time :0).

  43. sheryl says:

cool! Lovely stamps. where bought those Hiragana & Katakana from??

  44. Nancy says:

Do you know of a website to get the freshlook circle lenses? I like the regular ones here and would like to try the circle ones :)

  45. Iyah says:

I so want to try those Acuve contacts but they are not available here in the US. They are but not the circle lenses like that! You are so lucky..

  46. kickangel says:

I find it ironic that the brand is “Hand Bouquet” but they sell foot mask as well. Hurhur.

I’ve always liked Acuvue but the price is enough to kill me (I’m the kind who re-uses disposable contact lens. Yes, eww.) The purple looks quite good! But I look blind when I wear coloured contacts with the exception of black. I can’t pull off blue or grey – at all.

Good thing my sister is going to Korea. I’m so getting her to drop by Tony Moly and buy stuff just to get the Hyun Joong cotton pads. Oh, and the Suju paper bag from Kyochon Chicken. She’s already refusing to help me paste a post it for Jaebum at the JYP office. :( The passion of a fangirl knows no territorial (and sibling annoyance) limits! Lol.

    • Bittenbefore says:

haha yes i thought hand bouquet is weird but i think etudehouse didnt think too much abt it hahah

re the cotton pads, remember to get the leeminho ones from etudehouse too XD

  47. Eva says:

oh!! nice contacts how do you buy them in korea? do you just show them your prescription?

  48. mayaari says:

what lovely gifts you got in the mail! I spy some sparkly earrings from yasumi :) and I’m in awe of your stamps! haha i used to have a lot of stamps, but now I think I have maybe…3?

  49. kalai says:

wow so lucky~__~ you get to go to so many cool places all the time^^

i want that footmask! i didnt realise etide house were doing a footmask too.. ive just heard of the handmask.. ill go have a look on gmarket later~
the swap with justine looks amazing! and the jewels from yasumi– cute.
+ the free cotton wool is so cute~ in hk i always get free tissue packs. i miss free stuff.lol

  50. Emily says:

wah!!!!!! omg so awesome yumeko its such a great haul

u seriously always…have so much great stuff

so lucky, makes me really wanna go to seoul!!

  51. Hey Yumeko, love your Seoul haul post. Will rem the contacts tip if I ever go to Seoul. Sounds soooo cheap hehe…

Btw, do you think Korean-made BB creams are better than Japanese-made ones like nanoce and sinn? I would love to try one but am undecided which brand to try. My local kusuriya only seems to sell Dr Ci Labo. Is this any good? :) Would really appreciate your opinion!

  52. ldy says:

the contact lense case is tooooo adorable!

  53. natgn says:

Ohh so lucky you get to travel~! I have never once flown on a plane haha, how sad. Great haul! Curious to what else you got but I get it that you don’t have time ;)
