I am a little late with this post XD
Promised a fair few of you that i would post photos of my trip to kinugawa onsen a month ago but with the whole moving to Hong Kong and what not, i slightly neglected all the photos i have of Japan XD <– which by the way, i have tons to write about. I’m always so behind on my blogging.
To get to kinugawa onsen, you can take a train from Asakusa station in Tokyo.

Asaya Hotel in Kinugawa Onsen
The hotel is one of the nicer ones in the area [according to the various taxi drivers i chatted with during my trip there XD]

I spent most of the time visiting some local sights and soaking in the onsen..which i cant take photos of

So i’ll show you what i ate instead XD

This area is famous for steamed food [i cant think of a better english term sorry XD]

The chawamushi [tea bowl egg tofu dish!? cant explain in english either] was really good

This is a listing of all the food that was served XD

Though the food is awesome..nothing beats the gorgeous view

From my hotel room [i think i tweeted this]

The hotel has several different onsens which are available to the guests. These are communal but single sex onsens. Sorry no mixed onsens [i dont do those either] No photos of those of course
But i can take a photo of this

This is the private onsen in my hotel room. The husband does not like communal onsens [its not common in Australia where he is from] so i always book a hotel room with a private onsen for him. Btw its not just heated water thats being pumped into this tub XD its actual onsen water. [there's a sign that certifies this as well]
Also another reason why i am at a hotel instead of a ryokan..the husband is not used to sleeping on a floor.
For those interested , this is the hotel website http://www.asaya-hotel.co.jp/
For a room with a private tub and with breakfast and dinner, USD$350 per person per night.
Its a lot less if you dont need the private tub ^^
In other news, i also finished a few products a while ago…which i also forgot to write about XD
Steamcream

Yup i used it all up XD Actually i am on my 3rd tub now. I just forgot to take a photo of the empty 2nd tub.
Nature Republic’s Morning Herb Smoothie Pack Lemon Grass and Apple Mint

Wash off mask from Nature Republic which i bought in Seoul.
The smell is excellent but i dont think its very doing anything for me XD Also i find it a bit drying.
I dont think i will be buying this again.
SkinFood’s Shea butter hair Mask

I bought this in Seoul as my hair was really dry when i arrived there. No idea why XD I think it was due to the fact i dyed my hair 2 days prior to my trip to Seoul.
It does what it says but its a bit difficult to dig the product out of the jar. And i find i have to use a lot and it can get a bit hard to smooth out. So whilst i think it works, i am too lazy to use this product hence i wont buy it again XD
And because i have to post at least 1 photo related to Hong Kong [so you know what i am up to in this new country]…

Yam flavoured bubble milk tea + Toast with condensed milk&peanut butter
The toast was reccomended by quite a few of you so i thought i give it a try.
Its really good but its a bit too sweet for me XD The husband really liked it though!!
FYI i’ll be posting more photos taken with my phone like the one above as my husband bought me a new iphone 3Gs over the weekend. It seems they sell them unlocked here in Hong Kong at the apple store. Not sure about how it is in your country but we definetely dont get that in Japan XD

Ok i think i blabbed on long enough
XOXO yumeko
p.s i noticed i got a few more blog followers!! thank you so much guys!!! let me know where your blogs are so i can follow you back. if you dont have a blog..say hi anyway XD!!

Where about do you usually use the steamcream? face?
the food presentation is beyond gorgeous! it’s perfect! I wouldn’t even dare eat it as I might ruin the cutness of the presentation!
I love all your shots!!!! The fullness in me is gone!

Hi Yume-chan,
the food looks soo delicious..i think that i will cook today something asian ;P and the view is quite beautiful too..
Take care,
Cherry
Aaah there’s this Hong Kong cafe here which sells thick toast like that French-style, fried in egg! It’s not very oily, is light and fluffy and they serve it with honey + butter! I love it so much but I don’t eat it often (gotta watch the weight XD)
The private onsen is pretty worth it for the price, it looks like a great place to have a relaxing time
hi!
nice to see u write things about Japan since I am in Japan right now. =]
I wonder why I couldn’t go back to your old old entries =[
and I would like to ask, where did u buy the steam cream?
Ah that food (the Japanese ones) looks SO good. I need to visit Japan some day just to eat, lol.
Glad you’re having fun!! =D
Thanks for the quick reply Yumeko-chan! And for the food porn with this post. I’m missing Japanese food riike crrrazzy.
The lolita stuff I know they sell knockoffs online but was only wondering if they had it in HK stores. I don’t even think there is a large community for that in HK….will you miss it?
As for Alice Deco, I found out on Ebay that it’s actually a Sewing Magazine, and I contacted an Ebay seller on how to purchase the fabric or the clothing if they sell it, but no response back, that’s why I asked you. I’m still confused as to whether you can actually buy the fabric or the completed clothing from that magazine. I even contacted the official blog, but no one has answered me~ Argh!
Awww that place is so nice! & so much yummy food, I have never got a chance to try these kind of things. I always have a feeling that I won’t like it so it would be a waste since I can’t order something else again >_< So I usually get the same thing if I go to a particular restaurant. Sad times T_T I hope that when I grow up I'll have a bit more money so I can go out to eat more often & have the courage to try different things ^_^
The iPhone here is exclusive to a certain network but I think they going to be available to different networks soon. Woah everyone is upgrading, I just have a normal phone with 2 megapixels XD~ Maybe I'll upgrade next year or the year after.
xxx
I want an iPhone 3G S too! Which store in HK did the hubby purchase your new baby? Might be back in April in HK…
Where are you again in HK?
beautiful pics !
Your pictures always come out so pretty and vibrant. In the event I find myself with $1k USD to spare, I’m gonna ask you to buy me an unlocked 3GS lol.

the food looks soo good~__~ i want to go to an onsen~ i love baths^^
that piece of toast looks so yummy! i might try make some tomorow.lol. hope it turns out ok^^ xx
waaaah sooo traditional japanese food! I love those sooo much! And a private onsen! WOOOOOO! Yeah i ain’t comfortable either taking those with other females…..it’s so …uncomfortable.
*sigh* One day I shall visit a real Japanese onsen. Preferably a private one b/c I’m a prude…lol. The U.S is just like Japan. Unlocked iPhones are non-existent! Congrats on your new baby.
P.S Haha…I like the “just in case syndrome”!
Omg that food looks so good! And I didn’t know you could get onsen in your own room! (P.S. My blog
http://aijuswhanakno.blogspot.com)
All the food looks so yummy!!
i LOOOOOVe the breakfast picture oooohhhhhhh oishii katta?
Awesome pics!! When I was in japan I visit the public family onsen called yunessun if I remember it correctly, bcoz hubby didn’t feel comfy on the traditional onsen XD
Btw in asian country (eXcept japan) it’s pretty common to buy unlocked mobile phn. I bought mine in aussie n unlocked it when I visit back home
ur food pictures always get to me! oh how i miss japan
that looks sooo yummy!!! i’m planning to visit japan during my study abroad in Shanghai, maybe you can recommend some places for me to visit? THANKS!
i have always wanted to go to an onsen/hotspring, it’s just the communal bathing thing that i’m really not used to
and when i go to japan it’s never properly cold enough to go there. i was wondering what are the seasons people usually go to onsens? i know it’s normal in winter but what about autumn or spring? (and nobody goes there in summer right? my friend totally laughed at me when i asked if we could go to hotsprings in taiwan in summer!) i’m quite afraid of the cold… ^^
anyway, love the hongkong cha chan teng food! when i’m at home, sometimes i make toast with condensed milk as well, super sweet and calorific but i don’t care! haha ^^
beautiful scenery and delicious food! both i like!!!
the onsen looks good! would love to try it one day!
i tried the peanut bread once…and on the first look i tot it was sweet but it was ok for me! haha…
i think spore has unlocked phone..i think…haha i not a iphone junkie..
Well I finally got a hold of my friend from Japan on Skpe! so he will contact the official blog to find out for me. I’m specifically hunting down a dress in the Spring 2009 issue. He thinks that the clothes in the magazine represents a lot of different companies and it could be that they are only advertising the companies and not selling the clothes. I think that might be it.
Thanks for your help!
Hiro and I are searching for ryokan/hotels for our trip in July. I think we will go back to Izu and then maybe Wakayama then I dont know where! There are some super onsen along the way so that would be a mega treat. I really want to see more of Japan’s countryside.
This is the place you showed me no?? It looks fabulous!! The place we go to in Izu is something “moon” cant remember the name coz it was looooong.
Wow so gorgeous over there!!
The toast looks really yummy!
Dammit look at allt his yummy food…. XD Now I am hungry…. As usual.
And the private onsen looks so nice! If I ever go to Japan I need to try it xD
