Hope you get to be 100% soon!

aw, too bad the cakes didn’t taste as good as they looked.

I didn’t like the mask from the green white box right below the MBD. I have another box from that brand to try before giving up on them.

  2. mly says:

    Hi!
Yep, I was living in HK for the last few months but unfortunately moved now, over to the other side of the world! :/
Thanks for posting up pics, keeps me in touch with things back there. I always love the CNY decorations, especially at Ocean Terminal in TST. Though every year they differ, i never know what to expect.

Premade curtains? Maybe IKEA in Causeway? That’s the first place I can think of, dunno if that helps.

Btw, where is that factory outlet? seems neat!

    Get well soon!

  3. May says:

I miss your posts. I’m glad you are doing okay and hope you get back to 100% soon. I gotta stop by the Jill Stuart Store in Causeway Bay when I’m in HK next time. I’m madly in love with sheet masks especially MBD and Silk Whitia brands. I spy BeautyMate masks. I ordered 4 box (7 masks per box)of their masks to try from Sasa online. I got it for $7US, the quality is not bad. There seems to be a lot of hair accessories stores in HK. I love browsing around the factory outlet store, I brought 2 HK jewelery cases from there. Your food porn pics are making me hungry:D

    P.S You have gorgeous eyes<3

  4. Georgina says:

hi yumeko! sending you loads of hugs from manila to make you feel better! ^___^ im definitely going to that Jill Stuart store when i go to HK, i missed it last time! (i know, how stoofid of me! hehehe) :)

  5. Lorelle says:

Aw I hope you feel better soon. Remember to drink plenty of fluids!
Oh my I’m drooling over everything in this post! The headphoens are especially awesome! They remind me of Dragonball Z ;)
I haven’t tried many other asian masks except MBD, so I can’t say if anything else is good. 2:
I’ll eat anything with the word “cake” in it! xD All those food photos are making me so hungry too!

  6. Yasumi says:

CANT WAIT!!! All this is just temptation. xxxxxxxxxx mad love for you lol

  7. adin says:

Hi!!looks like you’re having fun in HK….so want to go there during the chinese new year…and you got the mix-style headphone….:D

  8. Justine says:

Hurray for moving? Does this mean you’ve found a more permanent apartment? HURRAY!!!

I hope you are feeling better soon! Are you depleting your Nyquil stocks? ;) I’m getting the run-down-pseudo-sick feeling but I’m hoping it will resolve itself once I can get some more sleep… except I’m back at work this weekend :S

I LOOOVE the headband store. It is so hard to get cute ones here that don’t cost an arm and a leg (for a headband) and I am too lazy to try going through GMarket at the moment. Haha. And the factory store! Kelsie would DIE with the Stitch stuff, but of course I love the pink Cinderella cases. They seem much more sophisticated than what you would see in a Disney store here (but perhaps that is because Disney stuff is not targeted to adults here).

Can’t help you with the masks, I only started using the MBD ones on the strength of you, Yasumi, and Mona’s recommendations, haha.

    The HK stickers are adorable!!

Talk to you soon, I hope <3

  9. M.A.C.nunu says:

Yumeko!!!I got worried about you after I read your tweet saying you were sick cos after that you went awol. Hope you get better soon!! the air in HK is really hard to adjust to.
Omg, I’m doing a mental currency exchange from your photos n Beauty Diary Masks are less than $7 a box in HK T.T and here I’m paying $10-$15 a box!
With regards to which masks to try, I quite like the Lifecella, Za, and Silk Whitia ones, you can find them at Sasa.
I just wanna know how you get around in HK, do you just speak English to everyone? xD or do you have some secret knowledge of Cantonese?

  10. acutelife says:

get well soon Yumeko, it’s a pity you catch the cold…hope it will be gone sooner! :) lolz HK bakery rarely care about the presentation of the cakes, but they do taste yummy, we have one down in the chinatown here too, lookwise it’s bleh but tastes very yummy!

  11. Alida says:

I’m glad you’re getting better!! Hmm don’t know much about those other brands of masks…I always walk right past them haha.

Let me know where the outlet place is…i spot lots of cute stuff! :]

  12. nlngstar says:

oh my, i wanna try that hot pot, is it super spicy?
Not fair, not fair, MBD mask at HK is way too cheap in M’sia drugstore, which might probably be the double price or so….

  13. mariam says:

glad youre doing okay!! oh, the cinderella, love it!!

  14. stellarvixen says:

Happy New Year Yumeko! Omedeto!! on your move to HK!

  16. Nikki says:

you are too cute with all your P.S’s! Girl, I missed HK!!! I have seen so many beauty masks there too and I don’t know which ones work as well aside from the My Beauty Diary masks :)

    Hope you feel better. :)

  17. mona says:

    YUMEKOOOOOO!!! goshdarnit i miss you

  18. Stephanie says:

Hi Yumeko, thanks for you picture heavy posts =^~^= Hong Kong shopping is, of course, cheaper but unfortunately when I went back last June I had no money, but next time I go back, you should take me shopping since my Euro is much higher :D

One brand of mask I know that is exclusive in Hong Kong is IsaWorkshop, I used some when I went back. This line is co-created by a former Miss Hong Kong, and it’s pricier, but if you want, check it out:

    http://www.isaworkshop.com/product.php (site’s in English/Chinese)

  19. k* says:

i hope you get better fast!

the shopping/exploring in hong kong seems almost endless!
i want to go there someday~~

  20. Jennifer H says:

glad to hear you’re settling well in HK :) lol lets meet up when i’m back in July ? :p

about the sheet masks galore, i haven’t tried the others. but i heard that O’slee sleeping masks seem to be great :)

  21. sparklesyuki says:

glad that u are feeling okay now! (^^)
that new year decoration…there’s a tiger bus isnt it? haha
it reminds me of totoro’s the catbus.. HAHAHA!

  22. ilyana says:

    Get better soon Yumeko dear!
I am completely jealous you’ve got access to a wide access of masks and Jill Stuart!! Such a pretty store.
I’m assuming since you’re moving next week, you’ve found an apartment? That’s great news! I hope the move doesn’t stress you out so much <3

  23. heartbreaker says:

  24. Babybubblz says:

    Hope you get better soon!

Cute iphone case, my friend bought me a similar blingy one, I never thought I would like the style but I love it so much!

  25. Katy says:

Oh man.. I want to go to Hong Kong so bad! Would you ever want to live in North America? I want to move to Asia because everything there seems so much funner (and then move back here when I have kids so they can go to school here.. haha).

I love how the big headphones look but they always hurt my ears!

  26. Catherine says:

OMG. So many amazing pictures!!!! Wish I were there too! LOL!

  27. queenyee says:

hi yumeko, get well soon, hong kong is really a good place for shopping, there’s really loads of stuffs at affordable prices :) love ur bling bling too and hope u’ll settle soon in HK :)

good luck with the moving and take care!!!

  29. Sara Mari says:

It’s great to read another update from your adventure in Hong Kong, it looks sooo amazing. I would love to go to that outlet store with all the Disney merchandise. I got into Disney again since I went to the Tokyo Disney resort haha^^

The food looks amazing as usual, and that biscuit can hold a train card?? That’s sooo cute >3<

I hope you can find some temporary curtains, take care!

  30. Rachel H says:

Have fun in Taipei! If things in HK are cheap – wait till u get to Tai Pei (the Japanese (including Jill Stuart which i think is manufactured there) and Taiwanese brands are even cheaper there), but not western brands like MAC etc.

Haven’t tried Silk Whitia (for whitening), but tempted to coz they’ve been having these on and off deals this past 1/2 year where you pay 1 dollar extra and get an extra box!

I have acne prone skin – so i use the green and white box of masks in that photo; below my beauty diary. i heard the gold packaging mask for that brand is pretty good too (i think the serum is thicker than MBD; and hence more moisturising).

Bioderma masks (not sheet masks) are really good for sensitive and dry skin, i have oily skin and it was not greasy but supermoisturising on dry days. Hope that helps.

    • Bittenbefore says:

yes i do find things in taipei cheaper XD i havent been there in a year! love the food there!

i havent tried silk whitia either! i keep hearing some friends with problems using them hence i am being a little chicken abt it.

your mask reviews totally help! i feel a bit more gutsy trying at least one of those now <3

      • Rachel H says:

Yeah i’m a big fan of Taipei, and Taiwan generally (the food!) – i was just comparing photos with my fam minutes ago, to see who ate what lol, as i went in the summer and they after new years.

  31. Rachel H says:

oh and get well soon, the weather is dipping again this weekend!

  32. ligi says:

Yay they have JILL STUART in Hong Kong – have to check it out when I am there in April.

I would think IKEA(cuaseway bay) will have the pre-made curtain.

Hope you feel better and good luck moving into your new crib!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i went to ikea! loads of ppl suggested it heehee. i found some but not sure if they will fit but it will have to do for the time being heee
      thanks for the wellwishes sweets!

  33. Marlene says:

feel better! I love those headphones, what brand is it?!

  34. zuuchini says:

you’re adapting so quickly hk, except the getting sick part haha well it doesn’t count does it, cuz you get sick in japan too. I’m always too intimidated to enter those high end stores. My mom always tells me that the SA can tell if you’re buying or not. If you’re not buying, they are super rude.

  35. carine says:

Oh cute earphones :p and yummy food too !! I hope you’ll get better soon ! it seems like every blogger is sick these days :/

  36. kalopsia says:

love the headphones! I want to get some cute swimmer ones for my laptop but have nooo idea where to buy those online!! Ebay probably, haha

    • Bittenbefore says:

i have a pair of swimmer ones but they are currently in transit on its way to me XD i forgot to pack them into my luggage during my move hence i bought new headphones [i know i am so silly] i think ebay sells swimmer! good luck!

  37. ??? says:

  40. evie says:

  41. rita says:

you can try spotlight its this home depot/craft store in megabox kowloon bay i think i remember they had a curtain area

  42. Nicole says:

Wahhh Yumeko-san!!! ;A; I hope you get well soon! Take lots of fluids (preferably ginger ale) and get lots of sleep! >_____>), but I do recommend the MAC 217, 239, and 266. I’m not very sure if you’ve tried those two, but the 217 is very good for blending, the 239 for packing eyeshadow and even loose pigments on your lids, and the 266 for a precise cream/gel liner application, as well as for filling up your brows :)

Hope that helped and take care of yourself! ^_^ I’ll be praying for you!

  43. Shopping and Food Heaven!!

Love the bling..you get well SOON!

  44. Jian says:

Hope you’re settling well into HK!! =D How are you finding the language? When I went I had some difficulties buying cosmetics as the girls didn’t really speak a lot of English ><

But wow, you're so lucky! A JS shop!!! I want to go! And all the yummy food and cakes, and cheap goodies! Ahhhh~~!!

I really love the bling on your iPhone too. Inspires me to get my iPhone kitted out too, but I'm worried that the stickers will fall off!!

  45. Jian says:

P.S. Sorry to hear about your cold!! Chinese people always drink water boiled with ginger! It’s really good for you. Actually we all swear by Pepsi boiled with ginger. You literally just dice ginger and drop it in pepsi in a pan, and bring it to the boil, and simmer for a little while. =P I swear if I drink it I feel much better already! Sounds gross, but give it a try!

  46. Karen says:

New reader here. Looooooov your mtr card holder. Argh, they have a website. Too bad they don’t do online orders.

  47. Karen says:

Oooh wait, think there’s hope for me yet.

  48. Karen says:

by the way, can’t find your post on the Tsuyagla anymore. Based on your post, I bought it! How long does it take to do your whole head?

    • Bittenbefore says:

ah i was getting too much spam comments on it so i made the entry private XD

it takes me about 15mins ^^
