Recently, Miss Lisa asked me what sunblock i used via a text message and i realised i didnt really use just 1 product. So i thought i would write this post especially since i am travelling to two very sunny countries soon [Singapore and Australia]
I must admit i dont wear sunblock daily during non summer months but i do use beauty products with spf in them from day to day. Amongst them..foundation! In the form of a compact…

My thoughts
La Roche Posay – i bought this in Paris as i had forgotten to bring sunblock [i was in UK for a month before that so didnt feel i really needed it.] Its coverage is very thick so i felt it was a bit much. Use sparingly XD You look extra good in photos when wearing this though! <– might be due to the thick coverage
Orbis UV Cut- I use this for touchups or to powder my nose far more than as a base foundation. The coverage is thin and quite powdery.
Coffret D’or – Medium coverage but does not work well for my oily tzone. I get shiny very quickly alas.
Esprique Kose – Medium high coverage yet good enough for touchups during the day. Good for travelling since its so versatile.
Other than foundations compact, i also have BBcream with spf in them!
Regular readers would know i am a HUGE fan of bbcream [i have around 50+ different types XD] so i wont talk abt them too much. I might write a post about them one day if anyone is interested.
And for regular skincare/sunblock, these are my two faves
KOSE sekkisei Day Essence – This only has 25spf but its my HG! I use this daily as a moisturisor prior to putting on makeup. Non greasy and spreads evenly.
CLOVER non color Ultra UV base – This has 50SPF! Its probably a little crazy high for my needs but i LOVE this. It spreads evenly, dries quickly to a semi matte finish. Helps a LOT with my oily tzone.
Whilst digging through my stash for items with spf in them, i came across these 2 samples from Coffret D’or
One is a sample for liquid foundation and the other is the powder compact. Both have SPF in them.
Since i own the fullsize version of these two products, i decided i would mail these to someone who wishes to try it. So if you are a follower of my blog and interested to try this, leave a comment saying so! I’ll pick one person randomly to mail it to^^ [This is not really a giveaway, just wanted to share what i have with you guys! Esp since i know some of you cant get Coffret D'or where you live]

In other news, i think the pollution in Hong Kong is really affecting me. My sinuses are still unwell and now i think i might even have hayfever hahahah Hence i started on an eyewash routine.
This is the eyewash i bought in Tokyo.
Rohto Lychee Eyewash. I know a lot of bloggers use the eyedrops version. heehee
It has a big suction cup top which you place over your whole eye to wash it with.
I’ve been using it after i shower. To wash off all the dirt my eyes encounter during the day, be it from pollution or even makeup. I think its helping <3
And no post of mine is complete with some food pics right?
I have feasted far too much this week T-T Should try to hit the gym next week.

My weekend was good!! I also went out for dim sum but it was only OK and the restaurant was tiny and super crowded… our table was so jammed with chairs that once you sat down you couldn’t get out unless 3 other people did! But I did have a custard bun although they came first (which was weird) so by the time we got around to eating them the custard had solidified! Oops.
I just use my Dior tinted moisturizer with SPF 25 but I am thinking of adding in a separate sunblock… looking at Diorsnow’s SPF 50+++ primer but they don’t sell it here (of course). So on the hunt for that at the moment! I used the Neutrogena dry-touch sunscreen while we were in Tokyo but I found it raelly heavy… maybe I will look for the face specific one as I have heard lots of good things about that brand!
I found my Coffret D’or Samples from my trip recently but they are WAYYY too light so I passed them on, haha. I like that you can get samples of the powder foundations though! You can’t really get those here (unless it’s a loose powder, but I find those kind of messy).
Looking forward to your post about the MAC lippies though it is not helping with my lemmings.
I am planning on my first YSL Rouge Volupte but the collection needs to be released here first…

Oh and if your sinuses are still stuffed/plugged maybe try one of those nasal sprays? Nyquil/VICKS makes one, but even plain saline might help a bit

I use eyewash for my eyes too! but its a different normal brand….my eye lotions..makes my eyes ‘pricks’ at times…like those burning sensation…(^^’)
i heard of the eyewash brand that u are using…saw it in japanese TV commerical…ahhh…any stuffs by japan..is certainly the best..(T.T)

Oh, man! Your food always always make me hungry. I def. can’t wait to return to Asia. They have much better food than in USA. ANd cheaper to. How does the eye was work? I’m curious. Can you only buy that in Japan or HK? I wanna try the coffret powder if it is ok. I don’t think US have that here. at least not that I know of.

Wow, you have so many sunblock products! Good for you!!! Sadly I have barely any because I’m allergic to chemical sunscreens. =/ I only have two sunblocks – one for my face and one for my body LOL (though technically the body one can also be used for the face but iono, I haven’t tried it yet and it’s only SPF20).

also, if you do have hayfever, maybe you wanna try taking zyrtec? it totally saved me when i went up to melb during spring (omg side note if you’re going to melb during spring please beware of hayfever omg i nearly died i swear).

As usual, the food look so yummy. That eyewash looks so cool! My weekend was spent working, running errands, and reading. Fun stuff. Im actually looking forward to the week-its less busy for me.

I admit that I don’t wear sunscreen at all…though the bbcream that I’m using is SPF 42 so I think that’s good enough….seriously eyewash?never heard of it before….but thanks for posting about it…I think I need one…
now then you reminded me, i dun use sunblock but use products that contact SPF coverage instead as its rather humid in SG so this is prevention of suffocating my skin.

I’d be interested in getting those extra foundation sample/s you have for Cofret D’or. I am an NC25.
I’d also be interested in a BB cream review kind of thing that you mentioned in this post. I love BB creams too, but I only own the 3 from Skinfood. They work well for me.
An everyday spf moisturizer that works well for me is Aqualabel from shiseido. I use the red one for moisture, but there are 3 other lines- blue=whitening, turquoise=acne, purple=anti-aging.
Please post more reviews of asian skincare/makeup products!! I go to HK every year and stock up on them

Wow some of those have super pretty packaging for suncare items! LOL! I try to have at least one product w/SPF in it too. I prefer my moisturizer or BB Cream to have it, since I don’t like layering sunscreen over it, due to my oily skin.
Awww sorry to hear that your health isn’t acclimating to HK like everyone told you it would. But how cool is that Lycee Rohto eye wash?! LOL! I’m glad it’s helping! Hopefully your body acclimates soon!
I wear SPF everyday now, but I heard it doesn’t actually help against a tan, which I always thought it did. XD
I guess staying inside all day is the only way!

You’ve tried so many compact foundations! I keep looking for the perfect one, right now I’m using Chanel but there is almost no coverage >___>
The one I used before was ZA whitening, and there was a lot of coverage but it looked dry and flakey on me.. sigh there is never a perfect balance.
I also admit I don’t use SPF sunblock everyday even though I really should! But I think all my foundations including liquid and powder (and BB creams too) contain at least SPF 20..
The food looks so delicious! That’s one thing great about HK, the food!! Pity about the sinuses though! I didn’t realise the pollution was so bad O_O Although I went straight after a typhoon..so that’s probably why it was clear and nice when I was there.

Oh, my impression was that sunblock is a must have for all Jap/Taiwan and maybe HK girls for the whole year round.I have been proven wrong. haha. For me, I will try not to be lazy and have sunblock of SPF30 on my face, and recently to my aems/hands too, on days when I need to step out of my house. Sun damage during my teenage years left me with some spots, so it takes a lot of laziness for me to step out of the house with zero protection.
Is the foundation from Kose good, or does the one from Esprique Precious do a better job? 50 over BB cream!!!! I have 4 BB creams, and a few foundations, and dare not to add any more into my collection. Ha! Please do up a post for BB cream okay? Especially the purple one that’s in your pic.. It catches my attention.
The eye wash is so cute, almost like a drink.

I use my bb cream for sunscreen too, it’s very convenient and has good coverage. I wanted to ask you though, in terms of whitening – does the Kose Sekkisei toner give you a better whitening effect than the Day essence or otherwise lol?
the sekkisei toner i think. the day essence doesnt really whiten as much i feel.

Maybe I didn’t know where to look O_o hehe glad you are enjoying HK… you should go to Aberdeen and try the fish ball noodle soup and fried fish skin and fried beancurd rolls ^^ (so unhealthy hehe) it’s called Shan Long (Mountain Hole) Fish Ball Restaurant (i think?!) and the Jumbo floating seafood restaurant and Ocean Park are all nearby too… I would love to try the Coffret D’or (i’m around a NC20-25)as I can only get them online here in London..

ahhh you remind me of the fact that i really need to get new sunscreen!! i’ve used up skinfood’s broccoli sunscreen (loved it, btw) and forgot to buy a new bottle.. good thing it’s winter and not at all sunny right now. lol
