Thanks for the warm welcome back guys!

Today’s post is going to be crazy picture intensive.
Because..well..just because. i dont know how i ended up with so many pics for the post.

Ximending is an area in Taipei where a lot of younger kids hang out.
Its kinda like the Harajuku of Taipei i think. Anyway i like the area cos a lot of stall holders speak japanese here hahahahhaha

taiwan01
This is around noon and many shops in Ximending are not actually open yet XD
I was wandering around here as i arrived in Taipei on Thursday around noon but my sister did not arrive till later in the evening. Yup i was on my own for a fair few hours.

Look they have Etude house
taiwan05
Its directly opposite of Skinfood XD Both stores are WAY overpriced compared to their stores in korea.

I kinda got a bit hungry so i headed to the afamed Ay-Chung rice noodle store..
taiwan07

There is always a huge crowd here whenever i come visit….
taiwan08

Yummy goodness. The chilli sauce was spicier than i remember!!
taiwan09
Because i didnt think i was going to be talking to anyone for quite a few hours, i actually heaped quite a lot of garlic into this bowl XD Boy did i pay for it. I had to brush my teeth almost 5 times before the smell really went away.

To douse the fire, i grabbed a GreenTea latte from 7-11
taiwan06
Sadly this isnt very good. A lot of tea taste but not a lot of milk. The tea wasnt very good quality either.

Went to Magazine Freak [magazine store under Animate]
taiwan02
I like how they hang all the freebies that come with the mags from the ceilings so people can see the item in real life.

I didnt buy any japanese magazines..picked up a QUEEN magazine instead
taiwan10
Came with a free bag organizer.

The bag organizer had a tag printed with the Queen logo [in mandarin]
taiwan11

Got hungry again so headed to the oyster omelette store….
taiwan19

They are made to order XD
taiwan18

Yummy goodness…
taiwan20

Washed it down with some green tea.
taiwan21
This was so sweet XD i am not used to my green tea having sugar in it.

Around here…[4pm] i fell asleep at the hotel waiting for my sister to turn up XD
She finally arrived in Taipei and at the hotel around 8pm.

We headed to the Shilin night market….
taiwan24
Even on Thursday night, it was packed packed packed!!!

Loads of foooood!
taiwan23

And things to buy like clothes and accessories…
taiwan29

So busy and dark….
taiwand01

Candied fruits
taiwand04

Miscellaneous tofu , duck and what not products
taiwand05

loads of stores to shop at
taiwand06

But you gotta eat some local delights!
taiwand07

No idea what this is called…uh sesame noodles?
taiwand08

same as above but with spicy szechuan peppers on it XD
taiwan34

This was called…Moon prawn biscuit? [literal translation XD]
taiwand09
Really yummy and crispy

Got me some yummy milk tea
taiwan35
So many flavours..i chose hokkaido bubble milk tea. SO GOOD!!!

So much food to choose from too….but i couldnt eat too much more…
taiwand11

Ended up eating TianPuRa [sounds like tempura but is not the same as japanese tempura]
taiwan36

I didnt really like this XD
taiwan37

My sister and i were super full by the end of this and proceeded to go shopping instead.
She bought way more things than me..i think i was too sleepy/tired by then from the food hahahah even though i was the one who had a nap at the hotel prior.

I did get me some fake lashes though XD
taiwand14
We ended up leaving Shilin night market around 1am. I was zonked by the time i got back to the hotel.
Will tell you guys more about the beauty/makeup shopping in taiwan in my next post!!

In other news….quite a few of you asked if i could share a photo of the Hello Kitty tumbler i got from the Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe in Taiwan…here it is…
taiwan01
Ok i have to head off to unpack/pack my luggage
I dont fly till Monday morning but I am expecting a very special guest this weekend so i have to finish all my packing/work before she arrives so i can spend some time with her.

Will try to do another post this Friday.
Till then
XOXO Yumeko

OMGGGG ahhhh, I miss Taipei so much!! I lived in Ximending (at least on the weekends) when I went back after I graduated from high school (did a language program in Dansui, but I went to Taipei every weekend to hang out with my grandpa) and I miss it SO MUCH. I absolutely LOVE that oyster noodle place – probably my fav place to eat in all of Taipei. My grandpa used to take me to the little sushi place close to it for lunch all the time and then we’d get the oyster noodles for snack in the evening before dinner. And my classmates and I would take the train thingy to Shilin after class to shop on the weekdays. I miss it so much!! And I wish I’d been into makeup then! LOL!

Glad you had a good vacation. =) The HK tumbler is super cute! And I can’t wait for more updates on Tezaiku!
