This review is dedicated to Miss LadyL! We were chatting online recently and i told her of this new contact lens solution i started using. She hadnt heard of it and asked me to post some piccies. So here they are!
Soft One Cool by Rohto
Price: Just under 750yen. [USD$8 approx]
Soft One comes in both Cool and Moist versions.
Yes i know the name “soft one” sure sounds a little odd.
Comes with a free lens case
LOVE that the caps are ATTACHED. No more fumbling and dropping lens caps for me!
BEST feature..you can attach the lens case to the top of the bottle to “air dry” it after washing!
Pros:
- Amazing cooling sensation, my eyes look bright and clear!!!
- One step solution for cleaning and storing contact lenses
- Packaging..i simply adore the clear bottle so i finally know how much solution is left!!!
- The contact lens case. Come on..its pretty cool
Cons:
- Amazing cooling sensation might be too strong/eye stinging for some of you. Heck its a bit much for me in the morning sometimes.
- Difficulty in buying for those outside of Japan?
- Travel sizes are way overpriced. I saw the travel sized version of this and for something 1/5th the size/volume, the price was around 550yen [approx USD$6]. The full bottle is just a dollar or two more!
Overall thoughts
I am going to buy the Moist version once i finish this. Whilst i looove the cooling sensation..it is a bit much for me in the wee hours of the morning when i am just awake with my tiny eyeballs XD Will let u guys know how the moist version is!
In other news…i have been buying so much from uniqlo recently.
Dont know why as i dont think i used to…anyway they put out a whole series of flowery printed tops and i love love love them all! They also put out some Disney collab items and i grabbed one of the scarves a little while ago
I looove how the Mickey insignia is hidden amongst the leopard print heehee…its Disney without being too childish!
Speaking of child-like..i have a neverending love for Miffy. One of my most prized posessions is a Miffy toy my mother bought me. The husband and i were out over the weekend and we noticed a ufo toy catcher machine filled with miffy keychains. A few dollars later…
Now i dont know if the husband is particularly good at this [he tends to win a lot of prizes at these machines] or perhaps the machine was particularly easy XD Anyway miffy overload for me! YAY!
One thing about Japan…they can come up with some good/weird food marketing fads. I’m a huge sucker for these and tend to fall for everything. For example…come spring..supermarkets are stocked with pasta making items and i have since come to think of pasta whenever spring comes.I know it makes like no sense. But i am a sucker as aforementioned. XD Anyway here’s something new they came up with….
Yes apparently come July..one should eat a cake with stars on it for the success of one’s LOVE relationships.
The 7th of July is Tanabata and is a Japanese star festival．According to legend, the Milky Way, a river made from stars that crosses the sky, separates two lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month.

I’m not exactly a huge McD’s fan but DAMMM this burger is good. Btw McD’s in Japan is actually good. You should eat it when u visit XD
And speaking of good food, i visited this fairly traditional soy product [think tofu and what not] store recently and i bought a packet of SoyMilk from them…
OMGGG its good. XD
And in the realm of good and funny looking..check out this imagawayaki 今川焼き
Its a dancing sweet potato XD The filling inside was sweet potato [yaki imo] hahahaha

its nice that the contact lens solution basically has a way to attach every part to the bottle…ensuring you’ll never lose it. if only clear care would do the same!

Yummy, a mostly food post! I love McD’s when we were in Japan (it helped that it was the only restaurant near our apartment that was open after 11PM haha). The star cakes are cute (though there isn’t as much ‘trend’ food here so perhaps I should be looking closer for star cakes…

I went looking for one for my ipad. i want one that looks like a book cover so that i can protect the front screen. i found one, but it cost 50 USD! If u are into games, my boyfriend and I are obsessed with Plants vs. Zombies HD version. Very addicting. Another great game is Angry Birds. Something else that I find kinda cool is the DC and Marvel comics app. OHHHH!!! AND one more app, Sketchbook pro is nice for doodling. By the way, I always love love love your posts. Ya, Miffy is quite cute. I’m from the city of Utrecht (in The Netherlands). Miffy was born there. So we have a Miffy museum there. Lots of Japanese people visit the museum. We also have 4 traffic lights with a green and red Miffy instead of a man. And because the city is 888 yrs old this year we have road signs designed by the father of Miffy.:)

Are you able to get apps on the ipad that you can get on the i—oh wait, just typing out that question I realized I already knew the answer, d’oh! I know some apps are made for iphones, touch ipods and ipads. I think one addictive app is Farm Story which I have on my iphone and I know you can get on your ipad. It seemed silly to get at first but once I started I seriously found it hard to stop! The only con is you need an internet connection to be able to play it. Otherwise there’s Super Search 60 which I reckon is a good game to pass the time and it should be awesome on the ipad since you’ll have a bigger screen.
So what phone did you end up getting???
