Ok so i am a little overdue on this post…i got back from Singapore about a week ago but i havent had internet so i wasnt able to write this post. Actually i dont have internet at home yet..but the husband’s coworker kindly lent us his internet token..so here i am posting XD

My schedule in Singapore was really hectic so sadly i dont have a lot of events/pics to show you. [it isnt a holiday trip] i did tweet a lot of my meals though [hey no matter how busy..one has to eat hahahaha]
Anyway one of the highlights of the trip..was seeing my sister!

We went to the high tea buffet at ShangriLa Hotel on a Saturday!
sgmal02

sgmal01
I like the decor..but oddly the Shangri La in Singapore does not have a scent.
The other ones i have stayed at [eg Hong Kong] has a gorgeous scent i cant describe. Very addictive

The all-u-can-eat buffet…my first plate XD
sgmal04

There was sushi too..but sorry guys..it tastes TERRIBLE!!!
sgmal06

Dessert buffet! There was a choco fountain too!
sgmal07

And the best part of this high tea..tons of TEA! we opted for the high tea option with all you can drink tea XD
sgmal05
The tea blends [over 128] are from TWG! i drank about 5 pots [5 varieties~ yummmy] Yup all by myself. Yup full sized pots. I love tea.

And on another weekend, my sister and brother in law drove me to Johor Bahru in Malaysia. There is a bridge [Causeway] that joins Malaysia and Singapore and Johor Bahru aka JB is the first stop.
sgmal11

Lookit the giant Milo tshirt sign board!
sgmal12

They have tesco too!!!
sgmal13

We went to Jusco [dont laugh..i love going Jusco..be it in Japan or anywhere else. I used to go jusco in Hong Kong too] Btw i havent been here before.
sgmal14

Inside….we went very early so its quite empty.
sgmal15

The supermarket part!
sgmal16

But food first!! Check out these prices! So cheap!
sgmal17
Divide by THREE to get the USD price.

What my sister and brother in law [O-san] had….
sgmal18

Went ogling at the drugstore too XD
sgmal19
Has anyone tried this. MATTE is so important to me. But i am too used to bbcreams and afraid foundy will break me out so i didnt get it.

Looks like they get the Hello Kitty edition of the Volum’ Express from Maybelline as well.
sgmal20
But it was SOOOO overpriced.

We did some other shopping but then it was time for more food XD
sgmal21
Divide by THREE to get USD price.

O-san had the choco brownie [only USD$1 more with any set lunch!]
sgmal22

I had some spicy noodles..yummmyyy
sgmal23

After that energy booster..we went to..the supermarket <- i love supermarkets
sgmal25
Pizza by the slice! The husband would totally not approve. He eats a lot of slices at one go.

Other frozen things..[ok note..i took a lot of pics near the freezer cos i was really warm hahaha]
sgmal26

Random hello kitty. you can find them EVERYWHERE i swear.
sgmal27

I sooo wanted to try this XD
sgmal29

This tooo! i love kaya XD
sgmal30

They had japanese food too but uh..i didnt bother XD
sgmal31
That sorta concludes my little day trip to JB XD

I suppose i should be showing you guys my HAULs and what not right?
To be honest..i dont think i bought that much..i’ll try to round up what i can and will blog about them soon with possible reviews. Actually i think i bought mostly FOOD like uh..groceries? stuff from supermarket i found interesting. But u guys are probably not interested in seeing that right? or am i wrong?

Hope you are all doing well and have a FAB weekend!
XOXO yumeko

p.s i am still having problems with my twitter account! On top of disappearing contacts, i can no longer accept followers requests. its been going on for around 3 -4 months now T-T i have sent in an email request for it to be fixed. So fingers crossed!!!
UPDATE: apparently its fixed. send ur requests then XD

p.p.s I like this song [i know i am a little late in posting this]

LUCIFER by SHINee
btw i notice Onew has a centre part hairstyle in some of the scenes. And recently i saw a magazine cover with Yamapi on it sporting a centre part hairstyle too. Can it be true..the old 90s idol centre part hairstyle is coming back in AGAIN?!??! omgggg~ >_<

I love your food pics! Asia has so many interesting foods that North America doesn’t have so it’s nice to see… :) Some of them make my mouth water, hahaha!

  2. blue says:

Hope you had a good time there! I was there (both Malaysia and S’pore) in April and was bowled over by the food and shopping options available there now.

  3. Post the food pictures! You always get such interesting/yummy looking food. Anyways too bad the sushi wasn’t good, but the dessert bar + tea look amazing. haha ShinEE, I have to admit I’m not the biggest ShinEE fan, but I did like Amigo

  4. Catherine says:

OMG your high tea pics are amaaaaazing! Especially dessert!! I would *love* to go to a tea place where someone would share 5 pots of tea with me!!! (I can barely get SO to sit through ONE pot at Tea Station LOL)…

Sorry your trip was so hectic, but looks like you still got to pack in a lot of fun stuff. :D

    • Bittenbefore says:

hate to break this to you..but i drank 5 pots by myself XD my sister drank 3 pots. and yes full size pots XD!!

  8. fiona says:

You look like you had a great time! I can’t believe you drank so much tea! Didn’t you feel full?! :O

Food is indeed really cheap in Malaysia – the Secret Recipe cakes are half the price of the exact same ones in Singapore. Lucky you had them in Malaysia! I’m going to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow, it’s further away than JB, I hope to lots of shopping there :D

  9. Anastacia says:

Yay! Seems like your trip was so yummy :D Love your food porn!

  10. Cynthia says:

i love seeing all the food posts …

wondering, are set lunches common in asia or is it just certain countries?

  11. sarah says:

WOW that’s a looooot of tea! i drink tons of tea too but i hate going to the bathroom every 20 minutes ahahaa.

  12. tsuki says:

Ooh, high tea! Some of the old hotels in San Diego serve high tea, and I feel so fancy whenever I go. I could probably drink 5 pots of tea, too, if I had the opportunity (and they had restrooms nearby) haha! I love your blog, btw, and I just started following you ^_^.

  13. puranki says:

Nice Pictures and soo yummy food :O

How much is the volume express in Singapore? I heard rumors it’s around 30$ O_O; true?

I use the matte myself since I have oily skin and I’m very happy with it.
Though the only downside is : you have to use it. If you’re using different foundations as well (like me -_-) and let this one for weeks or more aside. The texture gets really thin and runny.. But I found a way to fix this with nice shackin’ and some fridge time :> Hope this info helps you!

  14. Lily says:

    The food looks really good. : D I love desserts! ( :

  15. Justine says:

I love your food posts! And grocery shopping in other countries – it’s fascinating what you can buy in some places, haha. The set lunches look SO good (and so cheap!!!) – it would cost way more to eat like that here. And I love the idea of all you can drink tea …. definitely need to make a time to go for high tea at some point! There must be a place in Calgary that does it…

I also love going to drugstores, hence when I am in the USA I always go to a Target and CVS, haha.

  16. Dina (XYYan) says:

The Shangri La buffet looks really delicious! I haven’t been to Johor for so long, maybe I should visit there one day :D

  17. leslie says:

i loveeee the food posts!! i find them just as interesting if not more than haul posts :) ! i can spend sooo long in supermarkets… it’s always been one of my dreams to go to malaysia too

  20. chocaddict says:

    Hi :)
I always love reading about your trips, thanks for sharing those with use! ^_^
I have tried that Rimmel foundie last year…wasn’t all that impressed to tell you the truth. I t didn’t break me out but the mattifying effect wasn’t all that obvious at the end of the day.

    • Bittenbefore says:

ahh thanks for letting me know
thought it might be too good to be true. my skin is uber oily afterall XD

  21. Tam says:

T T I need to get out of England to eat some proper food, boo hoo!
OK, is it weird that supermarkets in Asia look EXACTLY the same as the ones in Brazil?
Now I miss brazilian food too T T their bento boxes are something else, sooo good!
I heard that the best drugstore foundation is the borjous one, I haven’t tried it though

    • Bittenbefore says:

really? how cool! u must show me pics of Brazil now!!
i am scared to use foundation these days [afraid of breakouts XD]

  22. Calia Yang says:

wow – the food looks so scrumptious!!! totally envious! glad that you enjoyed your time!

  23. Sofie says:

The food looks super yummy! And I am happy you had a nice trip!
Hehe and SHINee always has weird concepts. I can’t help but question alot of styles in Lucifer thought.
I love the song thought xD

  24. roxy says:

very cool! the hello kitty mascara looks so cute. love looking at your posts because it almost always includes my two favorite things – makeup and FOOD!!

  25. Sayuri says:

Oh, the hello kitty mascara is sold there too! I got one when I visited Japan in June <3 It's too cute so I can't use it yet. I still use the one from last year. But it doesn't have kitty on it.

    • Bittenbefore says:

i know what u mean! tats why i didnt buy the hello kitty version XD i knew i wouldnt use it hahaha

  26. Ada says:

I wish they sold Hello Kitty x Maybelline mascara here in the US, but then again, I probably wouldn’t buy it since I’d never end up using it :[

Your trip looked fun though! And completely agreed on the center part note! Onew looks so much better with bangs and just being adorably fail. And I think Yamapi looked the best in Kurosagi, that haircut really worked for him :]

    • Bittenbefore says:

yah i didnt buy it cos i wouldnt use it and what a waste
there is tons of other HK stuff to buy with that money heeheee

oh yess i think onew has adorable fail down to a fine art..so cute!
i liked yamapi’s hair in kurosagi too!

  27. zuuchini says:

    もう、腹が減った =D

  29. jeannie says:

hi babe! glad you visited Malaysia! you’ve not seen anything yet until you come to kuala lumpur! its the capital here. I am a local here. and there are much much more yummy food to be found at night! there is quite a night life in kl, provided you come on weekends! but during the weekdays food is abundant too.. its just more fun on weekends cos everyone is out and about.. =) shopping is the best right now because we’re having our annual mega sales until september. and there are very nice japanese restaurants in KL which arent too expensive according to local standards which is abt 50 USD for two. the places to go for food besides KL is ipoh and penang which both can be easily reached. hope you had a nice trip!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i have been to KL but AGES ago haha i used to transfer at KL before i went Japan [when i was a student and couldnt get a direct flight] from australia
i thought it was great fun too! lots to eat and buy
but i havent had time to go back in years sadly!

i have never been to ipoh or penang though! hope someday i can go

  30. anne says:

what is kaya bun??(and that green filling?)

    • jeannie says:

kaya bun is a bun filled with kaya in the middle. kaya bun is usually a snack or something for breakfast. the bun is usually flavorless to counter with the sweetness. kaya is a kind of jam made from pandan leaves thus giving it its green colour and fragrant smell. =D its a very yummy thing to go with toast and butter and half boiled eggs as breakfast here. ^^ hope that helps.

  31. erin says:

    post the food pics! ^_^

that kaya bun sure is intriguing, i did have kaya before, but never with a bun

oh btw, i’m in HK again, and I went around Jusco Taikoo just for fun :)

    • Bittenbefore says:

aww i didnt get to see u this time
are u moving to hk soon?
i might go end of this year for a visit!

      • erin says:

haha the move is not happening yet, but there will be frequent short visits though

oh let’s do meet again when you visit!!

btw, i bought a bottle of sunkiller from Watson’s because I read your previous post, I got the body sunkiller though

        • Bittenbefore says:

ah okok! yes i’ll let u know if i do go back
          was it the bodycare gel
i think tat is pretty good toooo! is taiwan cheaper or hk?

  32. rene says:

Hi Yumeko! It is so fun to read about your trip in my country and M’sia. Talking about M’sia… I don’t even know that there is a mall call Jusco there! I used to go there quite often. It is also interesting to know that you like kaya! Haha. I like kaya too. We have them in buns, waffles, toast, dipping sauce for dumplings…. all sorts! So I would love to see what you got from the Supermarket in Singapore!
You drank so much tea! Although I love tea too but I don’t remember if I had ever finish a pot by myself!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i dont know where in JB it even is ahahah but my sister knew [from online map/directions?]
i like kaya! we actually have one store in tokyo from singapore that sells it
its called YaKun! its in lalaport toyosu!
