Chamamo Cat Cafe, Hello Kitty, Mags & Urban Decay NAKED

I was supposed to continue writing about my roadtrip today but i had such mixed reviews from my previous post i thought i would think about it for a while ^^ Anyway today, i have my usual mishmash monday post! [Dont worry there is a wee bit of makeup at the end of the post]

Miss K and her sister Miss S are in Japan for a holiday [they went home today] and they invited me to go to the cat cafe with them! This is where we went…

Sadly we went during their nap time so they were mostly asleep…
The white cat is MILK…very pretty cat..
Actually all the cats there are so pretty and super fluffy.
Miss K asked the shop attendant how this was so and he said it was the special food they feed the cats.

I think MILK got irritated with our waving and phototaking. Eventually he[?] turned around to face the wall XD

Here’s another cutie in the scratching post…

Despite it being their nap time, the tiny cat cafe was pretty full XD!!
I know a lot of people probably expected it to be full of girls but actually there was an even amount of males and females in the store. A lot of guys came with their wives/girlfriends but as u can see from the pic above..there was 2 guys that turned up by themselves.

For those unfamiliar with cat cafes [we have dog cafes in japan too!] its a place where you pay $XX/hr and you get a drink and the time to spend with these super cute fluffy cats! i think this sorta place became popular amongst people who cant keep pets at home but are animal lovers. ^^

If you wish to visit CHANMAMO, here is the website

After our cat cafe visit, we decided to venture over to the KiddyLand store [the cat cafe is also in Harajuku/omotesando area] There is a Hello Kitty food store of sorts…

Cakes made in the shape of Hello Kitty [like ningyo-yaki but hello kitty shape]

Had many different flavoured fillings

What we had…

Since we are on the topic of Hello Kitty shaped food..i bought these Hello Kitty silicon molds from Tokyu Hands whilst out with Miss K….
I forgot how much they were..i wanna say about 1500yen [USD$17] each.

Matches perfectly with my Hello Kitty whisk hahahahah [omg i am terrible]

I tested the mold out by making this panna cotta but with soymilk instead of normal milk..because i think i have become more lactose intolerant over the years hence i only have soymilk at home XD
I think i didnt use enough gelatin or maybe didnt let it set long enough. Out of the 4 , only this one turned out ok XD

And more nonsense on cats [are u sick yet?] I bought these super cute toys from the anime Kuruneko.
I dont know what you call them boxes..they are usually blind boxes with toys in them like rement
Except this isnt blind know what u get in each box XD
I bought 2 of each design they had left [for me and for Miss K/Miss S]

They are seriously cute and mini [i put a MAC Hello Kitty blush in the pic for size comparison]
Miss K/Miss S i will mail them to you very soon. Hope you guys get it soon!

A while ago, i attended the Super Junior KRY concert in Japan but i didnt get to buy the photobook there so had to order them online..[sorry i think they are no longer available for order]

Also went to meet Ta-san who had gone to queue extra early and managed to snag me and Mish these KRY totes!
Thank you Ta-san!!!!

And because this is mishmash monday post..let me tell you about magazines i saw/bought recently XD
SWEET – comes with a gorgeous Anna Sui tote and cloth pouch. Fab quality.

Tsumori Chisato Mook [comes with a big tote]

Toy Story 3 mook which comes with a really cute disney lanyard for holding your disney pass when u go disneyland XD

And i am going to end this crazy mishmash monday post with a bit of makeup. You know..this isnt a strictly makeup blog so you are just gonna have to put up with my craziness.

Thanks to Miss Sarah S [who was buying her own palette and needed to buy another to get free shipping] i managed to get my hands on an urban decay NAKED palette.
Note: i bought it from Miss Sarah S and paid full price including tax so it was not a gift. So please dont go bothering her!!!

I think a million bloggers/vloggers have probably shown swatches and pics and what not so i wont bother
But i wanna say…I LOVE IT. i think its a perfect blend of colors. Neutrals for work , colors for day and enough smoky shadows for night wear. Just brillant. I have been using this for almost a whole week and not repeated any color combinations yet!

Here’s an EOTD. I used the colors VIRGIN, HALFBAKED, TOASTED [love this!] and DARK HORSE
Sorry i was lazy and didnt bother with any fake lashes or circle lenses XD

Hope the week goes well for all of you!
XOXO Yumeko

p.s. Ooh i have gained a few new followers lately..thankyou so much guys! will do giveaway very soon!

p.s A bit of serious talk here….
I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately and i notice people are not reading the FAQ before emailing me.So PLEASE read the FAQ before you email me. Also a lot of times when i take the time to reply to your questions about travel/makeup, i find that 9 out of 10 times, i dont get a reply or even a word of thanks.
Please note I am not obliged to be your travel planner or answer your questions so at least conduct yourself politely in your email. If anyone sends me another demand/one line question email, i will just simply delete and ignore it.
And lastly..please..if you dont even know what my name is [which i sign off every blog post with] dont email me and ask me to help you buy things!!! <- which i dont anyway! READ THE FAQ! /rant

For the rest of you who send pleasant emails and are polite, please feel free to continue to do so. ^^

  5. engz says:

Love your blog all the same, whether it’s about makeup, cats, trips or food. 😀

  6. Lily says:

Pet cafes sound fun. I hope I’ll get to visit one. : D The cat is so cute. : )

Aha the Hello Kitty cakes look tasty. xD

Yay Super Junior! <3 They were the first Korean band that I listened to haha.

  7. Cynthia says:

Pet cafe!! Even though I have a dog, I’d still like to go to one just to play with other kinds of dogs. 🙂

  8. Georgina says:

OMG i want that hello kitty mold too! ~gaaah! so cute! ^_^ congrats on getting your very own Super Junior photobook! i only know one song from them, Sorry sorry x_x hahaha! 🙂

very nice EOTD! the naked palette is very popular among bloggers right now… so sad i dont have store access to it. 🙁 you’re lucky to have a sweet friend to buy one for you! 🙂

hehe, that’s a lot of rude emails i imagine… i hope they realize they’re being idiots and become more responsible and polite next time they leave you a message. good luck yumeko! have a great week ahead! *good vibes*

  9. Dina (XYYan) says:

I’ve never heard about the cat cafe! They look so cut bu I’ll prefer dog cafe, hehe…
The Hello Kitty food store is so cute! so is the mold you got 😀
    Yay for serious talk! 🙂

  10. tsuki says:

Ahh, there are so many cute kitties in this post! I already have 2 fluffy cats in my house, and yet I’m still obsessed with everything cat-related, haha!

Wow, that’s really rude that people don’t even get your name right…

Anyways, your EOTD with your new palette looks great!

  11. Lora says:

Oh my goodness. I don’t remember that Hello Kitty food store being there when I was last there! Uwahhh. I’ll just have to visit again. 😀 That cat cafe is also super adorable! The pet stores in the States only let you look at their pets through the glass windows.

    • Bittenbefore says:

ah thats because this isnt a pet store. u cannot buy the cats or bring them home
actually u have to pay money to go in to play with the cats ^^

  12. Becky says:

Kitty loaded post XD Love it~~

Looking at your Hello Kitty moulds it makes me wish I continued baking. I haven’t done it in a long while so I think my skills have probably deteriorated to nothing. Probably end up producing some burnt goods. Anyways, I find that I’m becoming much more lactose intolerant throughout the years too! Drinking milk products didn’t use to bug me but I find more often that after I consume anything with milk I get very bloated and my stomach gets very upset. I’ve moved on to soymilk too to help my tummy troubles.

So many people are getting the naked palette, makes me wonder if I should pick up one myself. From your EOTD, it looks like the colours are pretty shimmery? I kinda like that. I’m less into matte shades 😛

  13. Justine says:

The cat cafe looks so cute – I think I prefer them napping! I scare/jump really easily so when cats (or dogs) bump into me it makes me startle a little bit.

I still think the HK molds are adorable – the one panna cotta that turned out is very cute! Maybe it will work better with baking? The end product would be a bit firmer, at least. 🙂 The matching whisk is also cute. (I am totally going to end up with a pink kitchen someday, haha)

I love photobooks and tote bags! One of the items from this year’s KAT-TUN concert was an eco bag, so of course I had to track that down. Glad you got your concert goods 😀

The SWEET magazine looks cute – I love the print on the little Anna Sui pouch best 🙂

Also, I am totally with you on the UD NAKED love 😀 Probably their best palette ever (I feel) – brought me back to neutrals (I’m wearing them with bright lips now). Love your EOTD!! Will always be partial to you in glasses ;D

Love the ending – hope the annoying e-mails stop!

  14. Nikki says:

Your eye makeup is superb! I love the cute kitty stuffs! Looks like you are having the time of your life inside the Cat Cafe 😀

  15. molé says:

LOL cat cafe! thats so funny.. i wonder who comes up with this kind of ideas XD if we didnt already have two kitties at home i would totally go there because i love cats!!
the kuruneko bag is so cute!!

  16. miRa says:

awww. those cats are cute!! 😀
went to sephora a few days ago but couldn’t get the NAKED palette :(((
and and and I LOVE your EOTD alotttt :)))

  17. Rae says:

Looks like you had an amazing time! I would love to visit one of those cat or dog cafes! They are crazy and so cute!! We have nothing like that here! Those HK cakes look super cute!! And all your goodies are amazing, the bags are dotey and well UD Naked palette is an obvious win! ^.^ Sorry to hear people have been rude and bothering you but try focus on the positive and the obvious inspiration you are to people that they want your help! =)

  18. mimi says:

everything is so cute in the post!!!! i wanna cry!!!

  19. Mandy says:

I’d totally go to the dog cafe (even though they kind of scare me..depending on the dog lol), such a great concept!
Hello Kitty cakes?! They look so cute >__< I would be so unwilling to eat it! lol
When will SuJu and any Kpop group come to NYC? 🙁

    • Bittenbefore says:

didnt RAIN have a concert in madison square garden? i thought brown eyed girls also went to NYC. hope more go ur way soon ^^

  20. Cat Cafe! Cat bag! JEALOUS. It’s so nice that you and the girls had the chance to go out and play. One day!!

  21. penny says:

Thanks for posting up pics of the cat cafe! i’ve heard of them and always wondered what they are like inside. It’s so sweet that guys turn up there by themselves too. your hello kitty panna cotta looks delicious!

  22. Kitty says:

OMG I really want to go to the Cat Cafe! Thats one of the things I MUST do if I ever go to Japan!! I love kitties!!

I want some Hello Kitty stuff like you have!! I want the molds and the whisks so I can make cute Hello Kitty cakes and things!! The little cat box bags were so cute I want one I must find somewhere that sells them!! And the mooks with the free gifts look awesome we don’t really get free gifts like that in our magazines D:

SO lucky to get the NAKED palette I want that so bad, I might ask for it for Christmas or an early present from one of my parents 😉 Its too lovely to miss out on!

Its sad that some people are rude in their emails I hope you do not get many 🙁 I replied to you when you emailed me!! I always try to be polite if I am emailing people its only what you would expect back! People are naughty for behaving badly and treating you like that!

    Kitty x

    • Bittenbefore says:

yah u were soooo sweet in your email!! i loooved it! and yes u always replied back <3 <3 i wish everyone was polite like you!!
i heard the NAKED palette isnt out in UK till Oct so u got time still heehee <3

so many of you guys are cat lovers! i should do some cat lover related giveaway! heehee

  23. evie says:

i wanna visit the dog cafe!!! ^^ and the UD naked palette is fab!!! wants wants wants!

  24. Jenn says:

My inner crazy cat lady loved all the cat related things in your post =)

The HK molds are too cute!

    Pretty eotd~love shimmery neutrals.

  25. Tam says:

    hey Yumeko!
I absolutely loved the entry about your trip, please show more pics! We have no waterfalls in England, I yearn for them lol!
We also have no interesting stops… Boo!
However I do have a cat, and he OWNS the cats at the cat cafe! OK, all cats are beautiful, but my kitty cat is half black smoke tabby, so the roots of his fur is white, and the outer half is black. Pretty unusual right? He’s incredibly sweet and kind too, very special to me. Oh, I gotta go cuddle him now, his new spot in a shelf for some reason! He has his own armchair but he’s always looking for somewhere weird to sleep in > . <
I totally sound like a crazy cat lady now XDDD

  26. Janora says:

OMG, I love the cat cafe! I saw it on another blog I read and it looks adorable. I have two kitties of my own but those ones look so fluffy and pampered!

Also, so jel of your naked palette! I have went to multiple stores trying to find one and finally one of the sephora SAs told me they are on backorder until mid-September!!

  27. Karrie says:

I’ve been thinking about getting the Naked palette.
And after seeing your eye makeup, I really want it now.

The panna cotta turned out really nice!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i think its a good buy ^^ sometimes i buy something and dont get to use it often enough but this i defietely do so i think its worthwhile ^^

  28. Etherealprey says:

zomg! I bought the same magazine and got the same anna sui tote too! lol! great minds think alike! I was hoping the anna sui tote would have been a little bit bigger…sigh…oh wellz!

  29. Eva says:

omg! i was at the superjunior KRY concert too! it was sooo goood! how was your seats? we were like second last row i loved the glow sticks they gave us do all asian concerts hand those out for free?(that was my first asian concert haha!)

aw i never got to go to kiddyland or the cat cafe while i was in japan…next time definitely!

I want UD naked! its sold out here!

    • Bittenbefore says:

my seats were quite good cos i bought the seats sold early for fanclub members.
no not all asian concerts hand them out..actually i think only korean concerts in japan tend to XD
cos in korea u gotta pay for it and in japan for japanese concerts..u tend to have to pay for it too ^^

  30. ~Lisa says:

Haha, I love this super random post! ^_^

The HK store and molds are sooo cute! And you would make a great cook, that looks sooo yummy!

Harhar, Super Junior! They’re so cute!!

& I agree with you. It sucks to receive those types of emails >_< It make syou feel disrespected, right?
I just realized that I never emailed you before! *runs off to write a 'pleasant and polite' email. LOL Don't delete it!!

    • Bittenbefore says:

aww thanks bb! i got ur email, i will reply to it soon <3
btw Toronto!! my current fave gal Msbonita lives there!!

  31. *Kat* says:

Yumeko, thank you so much for posting about the Cat Cafe. I will definitely need to go to one when I go to Japan. I should ask my son if he’s been to one yet. I’m sure that his GF would love to go to one.

Kyaa! The Hello Kitty items are so cute! We have a Hello Kitty Bakery that opened up here recently. A bit pricey but quite delicious. I love your Hello Kitty cooking items too. The pannacotta looks good.

The Kuruneko tote is so adorable!

The NAKED Palette is certainly very versatile. I was so lucky to get one. By chance I walked into Sephora to see if they had it and lucked out! I have since wanted to get another one to send to my son’s girlfriend but both locations are all out.

    • Bittenbefore says:

whee for the NAKED palette! the girls on twitter have been stalking it so once someone offered to get an extra for free shipping, i was all over it XD

  32. kalai says:

hey^^ aw i was looking up cat cafes the other day. i really want to go to one. they seem really cute. i love cats and always used to visit my friend when he had kittens but they’ve moved now~~ so i have no cats to see T___T~~

lol. hellokitty cakes so cute! i want the naked palette- looks so perfect for everyday work looks~ love the colours. but im meant to be saving to go to hongkong next month~~ saving is so

    • Bittenbefore says:

oooh hk! u will have tons of fun,. there is so much shopping there too
yes save for hk!! buy the palette later! its a permanent anyway heeheee

  33. zuuchini says:

omg! I wannna eat that hello kitty cake thing!

I’m really surprised that there are actually enough people willing to pay visit to a cat cafe, to make it lucrative. It’s really a good idea. I guess it’s more difficult to have pets in japan than other places such as Canada.

Man, i never get sick of seeing people posting the Naked palette. I once felt an urge to have it. But the more i look at it, the more i think i have very similar shades already. It is nice to have them all in one palette…but in the end, how much do I really need?

About your rant, I could understand how you feel. Very frustrating indeed…I say ignore whoever you think it’s not worth it lol.

    • Bittenbefore says:

oh yes a lot of people go to these pet cafes! i think they make quite a bit of money
esp in summer when everyone is getting out of the heat.

  34. Ada says:

Ahh, I knew cat and dog cafes existed, but I didn’t know that was how they charged people! Thanks for the info :]

And I’m so jealous you got to go to the SuJu KRY concert! How was it?

  35. elle says:

Hi Yumeko! Great post! 🙂 Hopefully will pass by that cat cafe when I’m in the Harajuku area next month! Or a dog cafe maybe… I <3 animals!

And nice EOTD using the Naked Palette! I'm unsure if I want to buy it yet though… Whenever I buy a new palette I still go back to my staple (Kate Glamtrick in BR-1) and then its a waste 🙁 Sigh!

Have a great day Yumeko~! XD

    <3 elle

  36. Tracy says:

    The cafe is interesting!
And the loots all about cats is cute too!
I gotta agree that the Anna Sui supplement that comes with Sweet Magazine is really good…
The EOTD done with the naked palette is nice…

  37. penny says:

Me again, I forgot to say I tagged you in my ‘8 most worn things’ post. Love your blog x

  38. Caroline says:

That cafe is very cute, that’s on my to go list now 🙂
Buying the naked pallette this wednesday!

  39. ? Cookiie says:

Aww cat cafés sound so cute! My friend just bought a kitten yesterday and I just couldn’t help continuously petting it. >.< I can't have pets at home, so cat cafés would be perfect for me. ♥♥

The NAKED palette is definitely haunting me. LOL eyeshadow palette fetish..

Hopefully people will start reading the FAQ and be more polite to you, because they should really appreciate it that you answer their e-mails one by one. I hope the nice e-mails you get will cheer you up though! ^^

  40. Hello Yumeko 🙂 thanks for sharing, that cafe is so cute!!! and thanks for sharing your EOTD again 🙂 BTW my blog’s comment function is fixed now, I’ve changed to a new server so there won’t be so many multiple windows popping up again yeahhh!!! 🙂

  41. Sofie says:

Ah! I love your EOTD with the UD naked palette! Now both you and Justine have it! Grrr! I am lemming it like crazy Haha!
And the cafe is so cute, I already have a cat thoo 😉 But so sweet!
And yum for the hello kitty panna cotta! Nooo! Lactose intolerant? That would really be the end of my life, I love milk! Milk anything really haha!
Miss talking to you badly! Take care! ♥

Ps. oh and those people are just so rude! Not even a thank you! Gee what’s wrong with people!

  42. sarah says:

gah, rude people! >__o who do they think they are!

so glad you like the palette so much <3 <3 <3

LOVE THE CAT STUFF!! the bags! and the cat cafe, oh gosh. i would TOTALLY go there!!

  43. omg my aunt would die over that hello kitty stuff, hahah she loves hello kitty more than anyone else I know. The panna cotta is cuteee! I really like your EOTD too, so far I’ve only heard positive things about UD Naked.
and eek sorry for your frustration, hopefully they start reading the FAQ now 🙂 hope you’re having a good week!

  44. Connie says:

Milk looks like he was done with you guys xD

Ooh, I have to hunt down that palette. And the cat cafe, I totally want to go!! Even though I already have two cats, playing with other peoples’ cats is more fun for some reason.

Ignore the haters, I want to read about the rest of your trip!

  45. Catherine says:

Awwww dude the cat cafe is sooooo cute! I would love if they had one here in SF (although … a lot of people here seem to have pets even though there’s not that much space…). Are there dog or bunny cafes too? I would LOVE to go to a bunny cafe teeheehee.

& OMGGGG I love your Hello Kitty molds! And the whisk!!! So cute!!!!! LOL I die. The cat tote is also freaking adorable and OMG I WANT THAT TSUMORI CHISATO TOTE!!!! I’m gonna go to Kino tomorrow in Japantown… hope they have it!! 😀 😀 😀

  47. sue says:

hi yumeko, have been reading your blog for a long time without leaving any comments and thought i would today 🙂 i wanted to thank you for all the posts on your life in japan as i really enjoy japanese culture. had a blast in toyko last fall and started cooking more japanese food at home. anyways, wanted to say that i think you look great with your glasses (minus the lashes and contacts)!

    • Bittenbefore says:

Hi Sue! thank you for reading my blog!! glad to hear u had a fab time in tokyo last fall!
and thank you for the compliment too! hope u leave more comments so i can hear how u are doing ^^

  48. Sam says:

I really like your travel posts- they remind me of my time in Japan and have been instrumental in convincing my family that Japan (and Hong Kong) would be an awesome place to visit!
Loved the pictures of the mooks, they always have such great gifts!

  49. mayaari says:

I’ve seen a few programs that have mentioned the cat cafes – I think I’d definitely be a repeat visitor to spend some time with cute kitties!

I’ve become a bit lactose intolerant as well over the years – I’m fine with yogurts and cheese, but I’ve basically stopped drinking dairy milk…I actually love almond milk now – even more than soymilk!

  50. Oct says:

fun EOTD! don’t know if i read in one of your posts before, do you wear glasses when you put on eye make-up? i wear glasses and always find it hard to see what i’m doing. i’m usually leaning right up against the mirror. ;D

  51. kickangel says:

The cat cafe looks awesome! Only that I can’t go to one cos my cat gets extremely jealous if he smells the scent of another cat on me. -.- K.R.Y concert! I was reading the reports and it sounded great. You might already know, but SM Town Live in Japan is in Jan 2011, I read. Which is the same month as their concert in Singapore so I can’t go even if I wanted to or I’d be really broke. 🙁

Omg, I so want to go to the Hello Kitty store the next time I go to Japan. If I can even get my order across cos my Japanese is full of fail. If all fails, I will just point at what I want. Lol.

  52. Nat says:

A cat cafe? That’s so interesting! Learned something new today! =)

  53. Lynne says:

Hmm, I wonder if I could rent out my Benji for cuddles. He’s very affectionate and playful.
