Magazine: Non-no X To B by Agnes B

Am i doing too many magazine reviews lately? So sorry, things are hectic around here due to the number of public holidays this week [it means i have to get all my stuff done in a shorter amount of time] so i dont have time to do a proper makeup review/swatch thing. Next week next week!

Non-no isnt a magazine i read regularly. i did read it a lot when i was younger though XD But this is a bumper issue so i thought..i had to give it a read [i like buying fat magazines ok, i read really quickly and if its a thin mag, i get through it too quickly]
This issue comes with just the Agnes B tote!

it also comes with a few extra supplements [mini magazines inside the magazine]

Here they are

1. Bento making
All bentos are under 500kcal! Btw i have been asked on twitter by several lovely ladies [u guys know who u are] to do a blog post on bentos. So if u have any questions or tips you want, let me know <3 I’ll try to address them when i do the post.

2. Autumn Hairstyles

3. Iphone and Ipad Apps

There’s some love for the fangirls out there as well!
Nino X Aiba [Arashi]
There’s a segment on just Nino as well.

For Tohoshinki fans, there’s a few pages on Changmin
There’s a few other droolworthy pages on other stars like Miura etc but i got lazy and stopped taking pics XD

Oh there was a pullout of a mini travel guide for ISE! Excitinggggg i havent been to ISE in years
This guide will be handy if i ever go with the husband [its kinda far..8 hrs drive maybe or more from Tokyo]

There were tons of makeup related stuff but a lot of them were on autumn releases so i thought i would do it in another post some other time. But this really caught my eye
Eyeshadow quads from Revlon.
I have no idea if these are being sold outside of japan. or maybe they are and i never look [i admit i dont notice revlon enough] Anyway they kinda remind me of Lunasol but no clue abt the quality. Will go check them out in the store and get back to u guys!

For the Hello Kitty fans!
Yup Sesame Street X Hello Kitty collaboration!!

For Peanuts Snoopy fans
I guess they also jumped on the mook wagon! For its 60th anniversary. Released in Japan on 28th September

Next month’s Nonno will come with a Snidel pouch and tote
That tote looks HUGE.

On a more personal note, I dont generally talk about myself or how things are in my life on this blog, i tend to believe personal matters should be kept to oneself and really..who wants to listen to me whine XD

Lately i’ve been slightly unhinged [i wont say depressed or upset cos that just sounds too extreme] by a few incidents in my life but i came across an old copy of this manga i owned and it cheered me up so much, i decided to read more volumes again [i even bought the latest issue]
The manga’s name is Yotsuba-to! [Yotsuba and !]
Its about a 4 year old girl who can see the joy in everything and everyday

Oh to see the world as a child again!
XOXO Yumeko

p.s its a public holiday in Japan tomorrow. It’s Shunbun no hi. I hope you think of your ancestors and those before you.

The Agnes B tote looks so cute and pretty! I need to check this out when I visit a bookstore next time.
The Revlon quads do remind me of Lunasol palettes, I’ve never seen them here though.
OMG, I’m not really a Snoopy fan but the tote looks super cute~

  2. kelsey says:

Thanks for the review!!! I love your reviews actually. I always wanna buy every magazine and my bf says thats dumb. But your reviews help!

I hope you feel happier and things work out. There’s a saying that “God only gives you as much as you can handle”. even if you’re not religious, I believe the universe only gives you what it knows you can handle~~~all things will work out in the ned! Peace!

Those Sesame Street Hello Kitty toys are awesome- completely kawaii. I love Japanese magazines (that’s my #1 inspiration for going back to Japanese class, lol).
All the best for you and your family πŸ™‚

  5. maryinwonder says:

I have! I have a question! How the ***** do you do those otopuses? Take a knife and cutcutcutcutcut until it looks like one? Or there’s a special tool?
    I tried it once….poor cucumber….it wasn’t a nice sight >_<"

  6. Aiko says:

oh, i’d love to see you do a blogpost on a bento box thats quick and easy to do (for students who make their own bentos and are always running late to school aka me xD)~
i LOVEEEE yotsuba-to! sadly i only have up to volume 5 of the the eng vers. after i moved, i never got the chance to update my collection of it :'[ *tears

  7. nlngstar says:

dear Yumeko, your bento post(s) make me sooo excited!
I think the tips I would like to know are: what type of food normally will you recommend for bento? must it be rice?
recently my department has moved to warehouse industrial area, though it isn’t a MUST for me to bring my own bento, but walking in and out from the warehouse to food court is soooo far.

Is there any possibilities for us to re-heat the bento in microwave (any food that shoudln’t re-heat?)

    thanks in advance πŸ™‚

    • Bittenbefore says:

ooh u asked excellent questions! thank u dearie!! i wasnt sure what to write but these questions are great! i will try my best to answer them in my post!!!

  9. *Kat* says:

Thank you for the magazine review posts. I always find it interesting and love seeing what the GWPs look like. Sometimes they are not what you think they are by just seeing them pictured on the magazine.

I’m looking forward to your bento post as well. I used to do bento before but now I never seem to have the time to make it.

Oh, Agnes B tote free on a magazine? Girl, Agnes B is quite pricey down here!

I am sorry you were down a couple of days ago, same with me, I don’t talk too much on personal life because I don’t want to whine, but you’re right, do something that can make you feel better ! *hug* I hope things will look up!

  13. Krib says:

It’s good that you can find things that cheer you up πŸ˜€ I’m feeling a bit sad too so I read my favourite fantasy book :p

  14. Ada says:

I was going to get this one just for the Changmin supplement, but now I know that there’s a lot more I can enjoy too! :]

  15. Sheila says:

Thank you for the pictures and info about the magazine!

And I hope you feel better. I can totally understand that its always the small things that can cheer you up after a gloomy day, so if you need to talk I’ll always be here *hugs*

hahaha that HUGE tote is cute with the stars and the color, perfect for some snack/grocery shopping (because i’m sure it wouldn’t be able to hold heavy stuff) xD

  20. Dani says:

Love the last line, it’s a good reminder to think of the past and acknowledge those before us. γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ”γ–γ„γΎγ™γ€‚

  21. tsuki says:

Ah, this post reminded me that I have a few volumes of Yotsuba that I haven’t read for a while! That manga series always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart, haha!

  22. saltvinegar says:

Bought the same mag and did a review on it too.. but ur pics are much nicer!
Cheer up! When God closes a door somewhere he opens a window (or something like that) πŸ™‚

  23. Chyakura says:

I want the Snoopy Tote. Must check it out once the Mook comes out here. Also can’t wait for your post about the bento boxes. I use to make bentos…until it got to tiring to do =P maybe you can combine it with you microwace meals? Also Yotsubato is too cute! lol i have the managa as well. Anyway I hope you feel better! =)

  24. evie says:

haha the tote looks huge!!! great for supermarket! the revlon quads looks fab!! ahh would love to have some bento making tips! and how to keep it such that it will not turn bad since it is warm in a container for a few hours!

love reading funny mangas/watching comedy to brighten me up whenever i feel down…try to think of good things and more good happenings will come your way! XD

  25. Jian says:

I don’t mind magazine reviews! I find it interesting to see what’s going on!! The sesame street crossover is just too adorable. I used to love it when I was young – I remember learning how to spell ‘exercise’ by watching the show! And the bento box supplement – wow! I could do with some tips for that. Although I think the main thing is how to get up early and actually get everything ready – I can’t even wake up to make sandwiches. T___________T

I know kind of what you mean by digging up something from childhood and remembering what it’s like to be like a child again. I’m not saying I’m not like a child anyway, but I mean the naivety and the dreaming… I really hope that everything is okay for you though…

  26. Connie says:

    Hearing some older songs at a restaurant last night made me think of being a child again.. kind of bittersweet! But things will get better– unhappy incidents exist so you learn to appreciate the good things in life that much more. At least that’s what I always tell myself, even if it’s not always the easiest to believe. ^^;;

*hugs* to you, dear J (you’re always going to be that to me!! xD)

  27. Cynthia says:

uggggh I love the autumn hairstyles. T_T

hey, about bentos, do you ever suggest using meat? i’m kind of weary about meat and having to wait a few hours.

    • Bittenbefore says:

definetely! i always have meat in my bentos. i am very carnivorious hahahahahah
its not raw..its why would a few hrs be a problem?
even foodstores outside with their nuggets or what not, its meat thats kept out for a few hours. ^^
u can always use a thermal bag or something to keep it hot if u are worried ^^ HTH!

  28. wuzzyangel says:

What only Nino & Aiba?! Where the hell is my Sho-chan?! LOL!

Haha when I posted up that HK/Sesame Street collabo, Pray said it scared her! The Elmo dressed as HK is a little disturbing!

Hope you’re feeling better now!! πŸ™‚

  29. sarah says:

those quads look awesome! i thought they were lunasol at first, haha. i bet it’s JP/asia only, i don’t think we’d get as cool looking stuff here πŸ™ closest are the “new” maybelline quads (no longer new haha) but the quality is just so-so.

  30. sooji says:

so yumeko. you are secretly an otaku? πŸ™‚ hahahaha but i agree. yotsubato is definitely a feel good manga πŸ™‚ as you know, since i’ve been kind of down lately – i’ve also been submerging myself in manga (well.. i guess submerge is not what you did… maybe its ME who is the otaku here T_T). you hear me whine all the time about my life woes, hope you don’t feel like none of your readers would be supportive (double negative!) – we all love you here yumeko. and the effort you put forth in scanning these magazines and sharing all your beauty/food/travel photos <3

    • Bittenbefore says:

i am an otaku..i dont think its a secret XD! i was like raving crazier when i was much much younger. i once thought i was going to be mangaka! hahahaha but it didnt happen cos i realised it was too hard and i like the nice things in life [READ: i am lazy and want instant success to be able to buy all the shit i want]

anytime u need to talk girl, i am here for you! afterall i am ur unnie by several years XD! email me [u know my email right?] if u need someone to talk to

      • sooji says:

kakakaka the unnie part totally had me LOL-ing! thank you dearest yume <3 but like you, i also dont want to burden others with my issues more than i already have πŸ™‚ *looks around* but i do have a blog where i vent my petty thoughts if you're interested πŸ™‚

  31. Vilay says:

How the heck can I get my hands on that Cookie Monster Hello Kitty?!?!? They are so kawaii!

Very interested in your upcoming bento post! Maybe cause I like staring at food!
