Yuskin I-series Review

The cold weather is upon us in Japan! Well ok not extremely cold weather or anything but its getting cooler and the air is getting a lot drier. Every autumn/winter, i not only search for that elusive perfect pair of boots, i also start shopping around for a good body cream.

Here’s one i started using recently
Yuskin I-series cream

I think many of you are probably familiar with the original Yuskin A series cream [comes in orangey bottle].
This is the I or Ai series

Its for those of you who get itchy skin due to the extreme dry air in winter/air-con rooms etc.
I have very dry legs which are prone to getting wind burns T-T , cracking skin under cold weather which makes it extremely itchy and painful. Similar to pictures above XD

This cream is fragrance free and steriod free.
Its very light and absorbs quickly. The Yuskin A series cream is a thicker/less light.
There is a lotion in this I series but i didnt buy it since the cream is very light.

Regular use of this cream has shown fast improvement and i’m hoping it will help a lot throughout the cold season. I bought this new bottle yesterday and it came packaged with a handy travel sized tub
For those interested in learning more about Yuskin I-series, check here http://www.yuskin.co.jp/

For those outside of Japan, Yuskin is also known as Yu-be. Their website is here http://yu-be.com/
They dont have the I series on the Yu-be website but you can request free samples to try out their Yu-be cream which is the Yuskin A series in Japan ^^

Note: regular readers will know i get eczema on my arms and i have been using this cream on my arms too. But i generally use a much stronger cream on my arms such as Cetaphil’s Intensive Moisturising Cream and Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Concentrated Therapy [gift from May! thankyou!]

Oh and semi related..i also bought these super cute socks to wear at home XD
The designs on the bottom of the sock help to give it traction so you dont fall down whilst wearing socks in the house.

I’ve rediscovered my love for manga lately XD Been hooked on reading this series
Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima
If you look at it quickly, the art reminds one of the manga series “One Piece” but if you read it, you will realise its not very much alike at all. I highly reccomend this series if you are looking for a new manga to read.

She is using my paypal so if she cant get the item, she will call me to refund you immediately even if she is on holiday. I like the pink one! It looks classier and the brand isn’t sprawled on the front (although, I really do love that Jill on the front too, LOL XD)

And yes I hate it when the weather gets so dry, my lips and skin are all cracking. I’ve been using NARS Aqua Gel Hydrator for my face and it works, but so far nothing is working too well on my lips and rest of body. Sigh. But I am glad the cream is working out well for you! We need to have concoctions like that here in Canada… ones that really work!

    • Bittenbefore says:

both are sooo cute, i cant decide. stupid me, the white one was sold in tokyo shibuya clothing store earlier this year in march but i wasnt here
the pink one is exclusive to the jill stuart cafe in osaka i think.

  2. Blair says:

Yume-chan, get both mugs!!! They are both adorable!!!

Yuskin I-series cream sounds perfect for people who lives in a hot and humid country but need some moisturization. Thank you for sharing with us, will definitely buy this cream if I chance upon it!!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i cant afford to buy both mugs hahahaha i think i will buy the pink one cos i think the white one can be bought in tokyo now.

  3. ritzyroxie says:

Ooh, I’m gonna get that manga! Such a cute name! I like the cream colored mug, I think it looks more “cafe-like”, also that shape holds more coffee, which really I need! ^_^

  4. pina says:

thanks for review of yuskin! i was looking cream for winter, it helps so much !!
i didnt know jill stuart sells cute items XD
    i prefer left one !

    • Bittenbefore says:

the jill stuart cafe items are only sold at the jill stuart cafes around japan [hard to find sadly XD]

  5. May says:

The Yuskin I-series cream sounds nice for the winter. I have Yu-Be, I use it for my dry elbows and knees:) Thanks for the review. Glad the healing lotion is working for you. Get the pink one, Yume! 🙂

  6. Nikki says:

I think I need the YuSkin I-series, I do have dry spots on my arms and legs too! I will try to check this out at local Japanese stores 🙂 I hope they have it!

By the way, I like both mugs but I’m leaning on the white one 🙂

  7. Yasumi says:

Yuskin is brilliant. Though I have not tried the itchy series I am sure it works jolly well.

Remember that massive tub you bought me ages ago? Hiro used it all on his face!! We bought more in Japan this year….it helps with all sorts of skin conditions.

  8. *Kat* says:

Yumeko, I like the pink mug. It’s somehow more elegant looking.

That cream sounds wonderful. I hope that it works out for you when it becomes extremely cold. I’ve heard that this year is expected to be quite extreme.

  9. Tiff says:

I love Yuskin, it’s the only thing that ever works for my skin! Does this work well? Recently my mum’s gotten an issue called dermographia and it causes her unbearable itching so much that she can’t even sleep at night and she looks like a self harm victim! Yuskin works ok for her, but if there’s one especially for itchy skin it might work better, so i’m hopeful! I am also a sucker for blue packaging.

    • Bittenbefore says:

oh the poor thing! maybe u should get this for her then! there;s another series [forgot the name] from yuskin in a green bottle, its supposedly more natural organic for severe dry skin, but if she itches,,then i think try this??

  10. Jennifer H says:

the in-house socks are very cute <3!!!

the second mug looks more classy i think <3

  11. Jennifer H says:

lol and silly me, i haven’t logged onto blogger for a while, and now i’m back from hiatus ^_^”
    did you enjoy HK though?

    • Bittenbefore says:

heehee no problems at all! yes i got back for almost 6 months now ^^ hk was great! but sadly the pollution made me sick a lot whilst i was there! i hope to go back for a holiday someday!

  12. Krib says:

I need some of this Yuskin, my legs are always so itchy 🙁

  13. cynthia says:

ive got some pretty bad eczema, although it has gotten better over the years, but ive been using aveeno, which is also quite effective…very moisterising, although the body cream is quite thick, but it does the trick and does keep skin moisterised, i find im not as itchy at night and sleep better!! but i do recommend aveeno body cream if anything esp for winter weather =] but now got to find a good one suitable for hot weird weathered melbourne.. but the yuskin looks good! now if only melbourne wil stock it!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i have heard a lot of good things abt aveeno but there are so many varieties and the ones i have tried didnt quite work for me
also like how yuskin isnt in melbourne, aveeno isnt widely available in tokyo haha so i dont use it [its easier to use what is near u i guess since this is something we need to use a lot heehee]

  14. Kurainanimo says:

    Hello Yumeko!

This week has been an awful one for me and your post came just in time to put a smile on my face, thank you very much 🙂

    My email is tessa.khew.yp@gmail.com!

P.S. I think the pink mug is so ‘you’ 🙂

  15. Mira says:

    I like the 2nd cup. 😀
The bf is reading fairytail too! xD he said the author of fairytail is a student of one piece’s author. I dunno if it’s true :p but he like it anyway. Hehe.

    • Bittenbefore says:

actually that is not true, the author of fairytail has no connection with the author of one piece. also the author of fairytail is the actual “senpai” in the industry, he had a previous series out way before One Piece called “rave” it was mildly successful but nothing compared to One Piece’s success of cos heeheee

  16. Tammy says:

That cream sounds interesting..my skin is always itchy come winter.
I like the mug with the heart on it. =)

  17. Dina (XYYan) says:

  21. Monica says:

Both mugs are cute (I know doesn’t help)…Thanks for sharing the review, next time I’m in Japan will have to pick it up.

  22. Nice review on the Yuskin cream 🙂 I apply lotion twice a day during the winter so my skin doesn’t get too dry.
    Congrats to the giveaway winner!
My favorite mug is the one on the right. I love the script they used for the one on the left, but IMO the right mug’s design is much prettier.

  23. Helen says:

I say the pink one 😉

  24. Calia Yang says:

i’ve never heard of yuskin creams before…imma have to do some research!

I like the mug with the stripes. ^_^

and I’ve been wondering if fairy tale was a good manga to read! now that you say it is – i’m definitely going to start to read it!

    congrats to the winners!

  25. ThedaBara says:

That and samples really, I’d love to get a present just full of samples XD
The socks are adorable, hopefully they stop you from slipping (:

  27. Maggie says:

I LOVE Fairy Tail! It’s so funny and has a great storyline at the same time! 😀

  31. Betsy says:

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing about Yu-Skin! I had been wondering if it was Yu-Be. The Yu-Skin A series sounds very nice! Thanks for the cute Rilakkuma pic too!

  32. sarah says:

    cute mugs :3

i HATE ECZEMA! garghhh. i hope the yu-skin is working for you. there’s this SUPER heavy duty cream that i use, my derm recommended it. it doesn’t come in smaller sizes (my bottle is HUGE) so i’m not sure if i should send it to you in case it doesn’t work xD and i prefer to use my prescription on my eczema instead of this straight cream.. but i should send you a sample anyways. norweigian cream or something ridiculous.
