ADDICTION is a japanese cosmetics brand that started fairly recently [maybe a year or more?] It was started by Miss Ayako who used to work for NARS as their international makeup director. This is probably one of the main reasons there are a lot of NARS similarities amongst the offerings from this brand.
I must admit i didnt give this brand enough attention till recently when a friend of mine who is a HUGE fan convinced me to try her stash. A quick test of her huge collection, i was off to the ADDICTION counter over in Shibuya XD
FYI ADDICTION is a counter brand [not drugstore brand] in Japan
Here’s what i came home with
Yes its not a lot ..just two items but i wanted to try it out first XD
I got a lipgloss and an eyeshadow
before i start, can i just say..THANK GOODNESS they skipped on the weird rubber packaging NARS has. [Sorry NARs, i love you to death but damm your rubbery containers irritate me greatly]
Lipgloss in “DEAR LIAR”
This was actually what i was in the store for. I fell in love with the one my friend had and simply had to get one for myself XD
I dont really like sponge applicator wands but i like the doe shape!
That day when i went, i was wearing some smoky eyeshadow and the SA commented that it would look so much better if i considered wearing a more sparkly smoky eyeshadow to enhance my eyes. <– i am sucker for SA’s sales pitch.
She convinced me to buy….
ADDICTION Eyeshadow in THRILLER

“DEAR LIAR” is a gorgeously pigmented yet nude lipgloss with gold flakes in it. its not as nude as most lipglosses i tend to buy but its the pigmentation that impresses me.
“THRILLER” is one of those rare eyeshadows that gives me the smoky eyeshadow look i like without being overly dark thanks to its great shimmer/metallic qualities. I have tried several other shadows but cannot get the metallic finish like i do with this one.
Overall Thoughts:
Its nice to see a japanese made cosmetic brand with a color range different from the rest. However its also this difference that makes it similar in its offerings to brands like MAC and NARS. Since MAC and NARS are vastly overpriced in this country [japan], i will try to concentrate my efforts [money] on ADDICTION from now on XD

a lot of brands make very pigmented shadows in japan. lunasol has some realy nice ranges esp their germinate eye range

nars price in usa is defeintely a lot cheaper ^^;;

yes i do like them quite a bit ^^ i went to see them in a showcase in japan the year before [i posted the blog entry then i think] and i thought they were really good
