A while ago, i had some time off and i started trying loads of new cooking/baking recipes. Mostly i have been trying to make dishes that the husband cant get in Japan and wants to eat.
These efforts have not gone unnoticed and the husband surprised me with a few new additions to my kitchen.

Shinzi Kato Baking and Cooking dishes
Shinzi Kato-san is an amazing japanese artist and i really like his artwork.
I heard about his collaboration with Iwaki glassware [they do work with pyrex too] but due to the hefty price tag and the fact i already own a lot of plain glassware/cookware, i thought it would be spendthrift to get them.
But the husband felt otherwise…

The amazingly cute measuring glass [Little Red Riding Hood print]

Pound Cake Loaf Dish [Hansel and Gretel print]

Medium square dish [Hansel and Gretel print]

Large square dish [Red Riding hood print]

These dishes can be used in the microwave and the oven too!!!
I am loving their presence in my kitchen and i think i am going to get more!!!

To thank the husband i asked him if there was anything he wanted me to make.
This is how our conversation went
Note: Husband actually said “icing” not “frosting” but for the sake of all my non australian readers, i am using the term frosting.
Husband: Anything is fine, i like anything you make
Me: Would you prefer something cold like a pie or something hot and baked like a cake or cupcakes
Husband: Do the cupcakes come with frosting?
Me: Does that matter?
Husband: Yes, its a crucial part of the cupcakes
Me: You make it sound like i dont ever use any frosting
Husband: You dont! you once said why do we need to frost anything since the cake is already sweet
Me: *thinks* sounds familiar, i *might* have said that.
Husband:You are a stingy froster
I was most indignant [i couldnt even sleep!!!] so once i got home from work last night..i made these

i could have done a better job with the frosting but i only had one frosting tip on hand. I should buy more someday XD

Stingy froster!!?

Who is the stingy froster now!??!
I would like to state for the record that i am not a stingy froster nor do i dislike frosting..i just prefer to use cream!!! and what is wrong with just plain cake?? *dont answer that hahahah*
What is your favourite type of dessert?
XOXO Yumeko
p.s some of you may be wondering..hey if the post is about the new items from the Shinzi Kato glassware collection, why did Yumeko not use them in the baking…well the answer is..i have a bad habit of wanting to keep new things pristine for a while. Kinda like when i buy new makeup, i like keeping them and looking at them for a while before using them. Am i the only one? XD
