Review: Astalift Whitening Skincare Range by Fujifilm

I tend to avoid doing skincare reviews.
This is because i think everyone has a different skin type and its hard to explain what works for who and what.
However, this brand is new [sort of] and i want to introduce it to you guys.

Astalift Whitening Trial Set By FujiFilm

Yes you read that correctly. Fujifilm.
i have mentioned them several times on this blog so if you are a regular reader, you probably remember me mentioning it. :D

Astalift is sold in drugstores in Japan though they have a huge flagship store in Roppongi Midtown [Yes Fujifilm's flagship store is there as well]
They entered the japanese skincare/makeup market a few years ago and their popularity has been rising steadily despite their hefty pricetag for a new skincare product. Their prices are definetely in the KOSE SEKKISEI range which is an established long term brand. For example, their star product [Astalift Jelly Aquarysta] costs 9450yen for 40g is about USD$120.
Anyway long story short, i finally tried it. I love it and now i am here to try the rest of their skincare range.

Astalift is currently selling 2 trial sets.
Normal skincare
drugstore13
I bought this sometime last year but i gave it away to a friend who wanted to try it.

Last month, I decided to try the whitening version trial set since i was going away for a trip.

What the set contains
choco-20

The first 3 steps
choco-22
Cleansing Gel
This doesnt remove makeup as well as i would like it to. It hardly removes makeup. However, Astalift does make a cleansing oil so maybe that works better.
Price for Full Size product: 2730yen for 120g

Moisture Foam
This is pretty good. Does not leave my skin tight after washing.
Price for Full Size product: 2625yen for 100g

Jelly Aquarysta
The star product of the entire range. This is the one you will hear about the most. I think this warrants its own blog entry since i bought a full size version of this. Review for this will be in its own blog post :D
Price for Full Size product: 9450 yen for 40g

The next 3 steps [from whitening range]
choco-21
Whitening Lotion
When i bought the jelly aquarysta, i given a bottle of the normal lotion they sell. This works better i think. I didnt see much effect with the other lotion but when i switched to this, my skin appeared better.
Price for Full Size product: 4830yen for 150ml

Whitening Essence
Not sure about this. Did not see visible whitening effects but then again i only used it for 10 days.
Price for Full Size product: 8400yen for 30ml

Whitening Cream
This is their day cream. Absorbs well, not sticky and keeps one’s skin well hydrated. I reccomend this for day or humid weather use.
Price for Full Size product: 6300yen for 30g

And final step [day time only, skip for night time routine]
choco-23
Day Protector
This product has 35 SPF PA++ and is really thick. I have used two other similar products [from SKII and KOSE Sekkisei] and this is the thickest of the 3. Personally i think i prefer the KOSE Sekkisei Day protector version the most. [same pricing range]
Price for Full Size product: 3990yen for 30g

Where to buy:
Fujifilm Astalift is sold in several locations in Japan [check their website below]
Its also currently sold in other parts of Asia such as Taiwan.
Also i hear they are going to enter other global markets soon [They are coming soon to UK]
Fujifilm Astalift Website: http://fujifilm.jp/personal/skincare/index.html

I’m thinking of trying something new with my blog lately. [layout, design, type of posts etc]
So for the next few weeks, you may notice some weird tweaking and changes on this blog, please bear with me whilst i work out what i am trying to do! :D

XOXO Yumeko

from what i read of their sites etc, it seems whilst they were trying to discover new ways to develop film and what not, they learnt a lot abt things like nanotechnology etc
and in turn they turned it into a way to help your skin absorb hydrating faster etc etc and thats how the whole skin care research started.
      something like tat haha
