A while ago, i posted my LA makeup haul and a few of you asked if i could review the following
So, after using it for almost a month, i decided it was time to review the Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless foundation.
Review for the COVERGIRL and OLAY Tone Rehab 2-IN-1 Foundation will be in another post
Official spill from Covergirl website
– Featuring Olay Regenerist Serum and SPF 22
– Stays suspended over, and won’t settle into, fine lines and wrinkles
– Clinically shown to significantly improve skin condition in just four weeks
On the other side, the glass tub unscrews to unveil your foundation!
When i opened mine for the first time, there were cracks in the foundation but as far as i can tell, that has no effect on the quality. The foundation was not dry either [still very creamy so i guess the cracks were not due to drying foundation]
The white swirl blends seamlessly as well. You dont need to worry about white streaks on your face.
- Solid packaging [glass and plastic], sponge and foundation kept separate [hygenic]
- Easy to use [creamy, easy to blend]
- Low priced
- Moisturizing [has Olay in it] and spf [only 22 but its a good base to start with.]
- Comes in 15 shades , yes 15!!
- the sponge it comes with is like sandpaper [terrible]
- difficult to open the snap lid
Though the website claims i would see improved skin condition in over a month, i wasn’t able to tell as I tried a lot of new things this past month. [oops XD] However it doesnt seem to have done anything bad [thats good right?] I loooove how easy to use it is. I use it with my own sponge and it goes on seamlessly. However i hope to find a sponge that fits in the container soon because i HATE the sponge it comes with. Its light and very moisturizing at the same time. I look forward to using it this summer
I didnt do any swatches as i find it impossible to show how the shade shows up in pictures.
However i figure i would give some general advice on what shade i bought etc.
I am a MAC NC15 – 20 and i purchased shade Ivory 205. Its a perfect match!
My friend is MAC NC20 [dark NC20 but not NC25] and she bought Ivory 215 which was a perfect match for her.
The website has a handy shade match chart too [any major makeup brand you currently use, like MAC, LORAC, DIOR etc] you can use as a guide.
Have you tried anything in the covergirl and olay simply ageless range?
I’m hoping to try the concealer and corrector next.
How was your Easter weekend?
The cherry blossoms [Sakura] are in full bloom in Tokyo this week. Its a bit later than usual but its as gorgeous as ever.
So i spent most of my weekend viewing them [hanami] with family and friends
Will post more photos soon!
