You know Daiso right? The 100yen store in Japan that sells everything for 100yen? [105yen after tax]
They have many stores worldwide [Australia, Singapore, USA, Canada etc] and they sell many things for the same low price.
So over the years, i have written about some of their items and i thought it was time i wrote another entry. So if you go to this store and am bewildered by all the exciting stuff they have, here is my mini guide to it!
This post is dedicated to my baa-chan [grandma] who spent over an hour last week telling me how excellent Daiso was. They opened up a new store near where she lives and she had some exciting times walking through it and buying stuff.
You see where i get this shopping gene from…XD
Yes..my grandma is super cool. [or at least i think so]
My grandma doesnt speak english [nor does she go on the internet to be honest] so i guess she wont be reading this blog post but big shout out to her anyway 😀
Here are my top 8 BEAUTY RELATED BUYS from Daiso!! [why 8? cos i cant find the blushes and the sponges i wanted to add in my ranking XD]
8. Stick Concealer
Dont expect miracles. In other words its not going to do anything for major dark circles/blemishes.
But if you need a cheap concealer to keep in your gym locker or the office drawer, this is it.
The fat and thin side are nice touches too. Whilst it doesnt cover major issues, it works well enough as a concealer.
And in a pinch, use it to cover up mascara/eyeliner that has smudged during the course of the day. OR as an eyeshadow base.
Gotta love a multipurpose item that travels well too [much easier than say..concealer in a pot!]
7.Eyelash Storage Case
This is totally useless as a travel case for eyelashes [who travels with 4 pairs of eyelashes!? and if i did, the original packaging is way more compact than this huge bulky box] But as a storage case on my table for lashes i have worn [i only throw them out after a few wears] it works really well!
6. Fake eyelashes
Ok i’ll be honest with you. Most of their fake eyelashes are not comfortable at all.
BUT i think the ones above are pretty good. #13 has a super thick spine but it looks awesome even though they are just half type
lashes. I love those lower lashes above. You probably see me wear them often in my EOTDs.
5. Nose Beauty Brush
This is basically a ripoff of the B&C Tsururi Pore Cleansing Brush. That brush sells for around 1000yen. This brush sells for 105yen. You do the math XD I havent tried the original but this works pretty decently. It does shed a bit at the start though. I only use it if i have a really stubborn blackhead to scrub out. [Eg.sides of nose where the clarisonic doesnt reach]
Downside: this is hard to find. I looked in many Daiso stores before i found it. I think its getting quite popular.
3. Mascara Remover
Its not 100yen but its still from Daiso so i am still going to put it in my ranking.
I wrote a blog post about it here
2. Sponge Detergent
I first wrote about this in 2008 when i started my blog. I think this was one of my first few reviews XD
You see that bottle in the middle with the old packaging? I’m pretty sure its that old too hahahha [its already empty, i should throw it out XD]
For those who dont know, you can use it to wash your makeup brushes too! it will do an amazing job! Try it and see!
1. Eye Brow Coat
This stuff is AWESOME. I brush a coat of it over my done eyebrows and whatever product i use [eyebrow powder, eyebrow mascara, eyebrow pencil] DOES NOT BUDGE. And i’m talking all types of situations. Long hours, humidity, yoga, rain etc.
It works so much better than the MAC Brow Gel coat i bought and cost HEAPS less too.
And dont take my word for it! @cosme which is one of Japan’s top makeup review sites [think japanese makeupalley?] has a daiso ranking as well! These are the current results!
Yup number 1 is the eyebrow coat!!! Over 8000 people have submitted reviews for it and it has obtained a 6 STARS ranking!
Check them here : http://www.cosme.net/brand/brand_id/889/top
Daiso has branches all over the world but i think the stock varies [price varies too]
Here is their english site http://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english/index.html
Have you tried any of the items in my mini ranking?
Do you have something else to recommend me? 😀
Have an awesome week ahead!!!
