New makeup releases and sightings in the japanese drugstore!

Its been ages since i last been to the drugstore so i am a little behind on new releases but i did get the chance to pop into the store yesterday so i’m here to share a few pics with you!

Canmake mascara “Nobimori” promises to give both length and volume to your lashes

Canmake “Blessed Natural Foundation”
This is touted as being made with all natural ingredients, paraben and silicon free.

Not exactly new but there are new colors – Canmake Candy Wrap Lip and Canmake Cream Cheek
Canmake Website:

There is a new drugstore makeup brand that has been in a fair few magazines: Secret The CocoMagic
Its being produced by Coco Kinoshita [Model]

Shading Powder by CandyDoll

Tsururi has put out a cleaning mitt which is supposed to remove makeup and dirt in your pores just using water [omg?!]

BYS is a brand from Australia and several of their products are sold in Japan [at a crazy marked up price]
They have put out new palettes called LOOKME.
The colors are gorgeous and it swatches great but I didnt buy them as i figured they would be cheaper in Australia but i cant find them on the official BYS website. So is this a Japan only thing? [I hope not cos a BYS palette in Japan is like USD$17 whereas a BYS palette in Australia is a mere USD$4.50] Anyone in Australia who can verify if this is sold there?

LOREAL has a new concealer/highlight out called LUCENT magique
Before anyone complains that japanese cosmetics cost too much where they are..note that this costs 1680yen in Japan [About USD$19.50] So i too have to pay more for non japanese cosmetics XD
Has anyone tried this? Is it worth buying?

And the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain has made it to Japan as well!
There are currently 6 shades out in Japan and they retail at 1260yen each [USD$15] here.

Anything catch your eye?
What’s on your to buy list?
Any new releases you are waiting for or checking out?

Have an awesome weekend!!
XOXO Yumeko

Thank you for the updates ^^ I am heading to Tokyo next week and I am so excited to check out Canmake Blessed Natural foundation!! Anything natural and XXX-free is on my list! Maybe I can finally use a drugstore foundation without my skin boycotting me *sigh*

the plastic casing is really cheap and ugly [imho] but hey if it works why not!!
      hope it works for u!
dont get anything from ettusais. they may claim to be non pore clogging but everyone i know breaks out from it.

  2. Citrine says:

The Canmake cream cheek in red is really tempting (heck, all three of them are) and I like all the cocomagic glosses as well….

  3. Justine says:

I want to try the cleansing mitt! It looks like one I got from the Faceshop to help de-flake my face in NYC, but I lost it and haven’t been able to find one since D:

The Canmake cream cheeks look tempting as always. Do I spy a red?? I’m still obsessed with red blush.

Hope you find the By5 palettes in Aus! They are very pretty 🙂

    • Bittenbefore says:

i cant believe the mitt would work and even if it did, it would be sitting in my bathroom wet and absorbing/growing bacteria daily. nooooXD

  4. Magic Chic says:

Finally Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain readily available in Japan! Happy for you! Cosmetic packaging design in Japan is too awesome! I want all of them! 😀

    • Bittenbefore says:

omg its grossly expensive here so i refuse to buy it
its cheaper for me to buy from usa online and pay shipping lol

  5. JU says:

those displays always look so amazing! I wonder if those magic mitts work haha…let me know if you try them out! =D

  6. Leslie says:

Hope you can find those BYS palettes! And I’m so curious about the cleaning mitt…

Haven’t heard about L’Oreal Lucent in the US but have heard of Lumi highlighter (maybe similar/same products?)

    • Bittenbefore says:

i cant believe the cleaning mitt would work and even if it did, it would be sitting in my bathroom wet and absorbing/growing bacteria daily. nooooooXD
it might be the same thing, i will have to look into it if i am not too lazy XD

  7. Sarah says:

I love the Canmake Cream Cheek blushes, the new colors look really good, especially the one in the middle! Oh and I’m also curious about the cleaning mitt. My skin gets dry so quick from cleaning products -___-

  8. Marti says:

Haven’t seen those BYS palettes here in Australia – apparently they created the sub-brand for the Japanese market, according to a friend who works for the company, with a view to sell here/Western markets.

I cannot get over the mark up, though – BYS is literally sold in dollar stores here!! I’m moving Tokyo way in December, maybe I should buy some and sell them?! XD

    • Bittenbefore says:

AHhhhh ok i’ll wait and see if i really need them in my life hahahahahah
yes the mark up is nuts!!

  9. Tessa says:

Thank you for taking the time to snap pics and share them ~~

I wonder if BYS is the brand that releases these neon coloured palettes? If I ever go to any drugstore in Japan at 3~4pm there are bound to be a group of schoolgirls swatching at it.

I’m really curious to see if the Tsururi Mitt works. Right now it’s a little too good to be true..

    • Bittenbefore says:

yes tats the one! its like soooo cheap in australia!!!
i cant believe it would work and even if it did, it would be sitting in my bathroom wet and absorbing/growing bacteria daily. nooooooXD

Hi, I adore your blog! ^^
Just wanted to say Lucent Magique isn’t worth that high price!
I purchased it recently and was disappointed. It’s sheer coverage and has a watery consistency as opposed to Touche Eclat’s thicker more opaque formula. It does brighten somewhat but its definitely not worth valling it a semi-concealor. I’ve heard Bourjois do better versions but haven’t tested those.
I’m waiting for ichibankao to release the new canmake new gel formula cream cheeks. Can’t wait!~

    • Bittenbefore says:

Hi! thanks for the sweet comment and giving me the headsup
i am better off saving for the Touche Eclat afterall!!

i didnt know there were gel formula cream cheeks. will look into it XD

      • su says:

Those three pictured in this post are the new gel-type versions. Especially excited about the blood red one and orange. ^^

        • Bittenbefore says:

i didnt even take a good look , i assumed they were cream cheek but in new colors
i will check it out 😀
          thanks for letting me know

  11. Emily says:

Hi! Im a long time reader but always too shy to comment!

I havent seen the BYS anywhere at all… But if its similar formular than the mark up isnt really going to be worth it unless you love the colours! I wish we had that packaging here though… Its so much more appealing!

The revlon balms arent here in aus yet!! Mid november they are arriving… But $18 i heard. Atleast they are cheaper than the lip butters -.-

Japan and australia both have bad luck with prices it seems!!

    • Bittenbefore says:

Aww thanks Miss Emily! please dont be too shy to comment! since you take the time to read my inane ramblings, the least i can do is hear what you think of it 😀
i think you are right, if its a similar formula i shouldnt pay the mark up
i shall go back to check/compare ingredients!!

yes as long as its imported, we end up paying more.
kinda like how if i buy BYS here, its like 3 times more expensive XD

  12. lfcorner says:

I love the packaging in Japan so colorful and eye catching! hmmm I want to try the cammake product. Also the cleaning mitt seems interesting! Have a great weekedn! ^_^

  13. Moni says:

Ah so nice stuff! Missing the Japan Drugstores!
Very curious about the Canmake pact!

Btw I got one magic mitten too and it does work only with water and is washable. Always with me on trips!

    • Bittenbefore says:

i wear a lot of eye makeup and i am not comfortable scrubbing my eyes with the cloth
or am i wrong? [since u have one]

  14. lissy says:

That magicmitt sounds really interesting, hope I can find something similar
BYS isn’t that popular in Australia, we often stick to drugstore brands so there aren’t that many stockists that sell BYS and I definitely haven’t seen that eyeshadow palette around

    • Bittenbefore says:

yes i have been told by a few since that the palette might be made just for japan or overseas markets T-T
not sure if i am willin to spend that much on it yet. maybe will go back and swatch again lol.

  15. Agnes says:

Thanks for the updates! I searched the coco magic website and found some of the eye colors appealing…a tad different from the usual boring color combi of Japanese drugstore palettes. Will swatch it if I see it hehe.

    • Bittenbefore says:

look forward to hearing what you think?
what sort of color combis do you look out for?

      • Agnes says:

There’s so many browns (it’s basic and I love it too), brown + pinks etc. I want to see more unique color combi like blues (blue + silver + grey palettes?) or richer greens (I didn’t find any green palettes i like) and how about good payoff purples? I love purples but I only own one from Luvshca (not perfect yet).

What about you? What colours do you like?

        • Bittenbefore says:

i sorta change the colors i am into every season [i am so easily swayed lol] and there is always a strange color i hunt for.
but i have great affection for gold 😀

a good green palette is hard to buy indeed! its one of the rare colors i am willing to pay for a single shadow
a few seasons ago [2 years now?] one of the first LE singles ADDICTION put out was a gorgeous green teal and i think i spent months looking for a dupe cos i missed out hahaha
i was in a green/teal + brown + gold moment at that time XD

this season i am into dark browns, dark grays and the weird color i am hunting right now is terracotta/rust XD

  16. Xin says:

Thanks for the info. Some items are really nice. Especially there are a few brand I wouldn’t know if it is not because of you. Thank you !

  17. Kelsey says:

Awwww I wanna try some of these out! I hate paying crazy prices for American or Auz brands here so I just try to stick with the Japanese ones. I want to try the new mascara tho…you always give good reviews on stuff. So I usually follow your advice!

  18. kit says:

The mitt reminds me of Jane Iredale’s Magic Mitt that I read about recently. I know it removes makeup but the Tsururi one seems to have the added benefit of cleaning pores. Would be interesting to find out if it actually works.
