Hokkaido: A Night in Noboribetsu Onsen Town

Noboribetsu Onsen (登別) is a hot spring village town in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Hokkaido, Japan.

Hell Valley (地獄谷 Jigokudani) is here too so there are plenty of souvenir shops here that stock demon related paraphernalia to take home.
For example: the packaging on these manju

And these crazy adorable dolls.

Since it was extremely cold [-16degrees C] we ate dinner in the hotel.
The dinner was an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet. They kept offering us food. omg XD

The local snow crab is insanely good. [i saw some other tables eating like 10 boxes of these]

Here is how the hotel room looks like

But when you are in an onsen town, you have to soak in an onsen. My husband does not like going to the public onsen so the room we got has its own private tub.

Breakfast was..yes you guessed it..buffet AGAIN.

How much was the room rate? I really wanted to get a room with a private onsen, but I heard it is really expensive. Thanks for writing about this hotel. I have not been to Hokkaido yet, and at least I now know a good place to stay.

    • Bittenbefore says:

yes it is always quite expensive to get a room with a private onsen. however almost all hotels in japan are fairly expensive hence such places [with an onsen] would cost even more.i cant tell u the room rate as the prices change by season. i recommend u check their website instead ^^

will be doing more on hokkaido and other hotels soon :D DDDD

I went to Jigokudani, but no onsen. I was still a bit shy at that part of my trip!

    • Bittenbefore says:

      awww maybe next time ^^
my hubs doesnt do the public onsen either so u are not alone
hence we book private tubs ^^

The private onsen looks cool~ & you can never go wrong with buffet!

Hello! I am going to Japan for the first time this coming June, specifically Hokkaido. Can I ask how much does the buffet costs? My family loves seafood!

    • Bittenbefore says:

Hi! i am so sorry but the buffet was included in the hotel room fee [and the hotel room fee is dependent on type of room , season etc] so i do not know. the website didnt state it either. very sorry but perhaps you can stay at that hotel ^^
      have a fun fun time!!

  5. Jen says:

OMG that buffet looks insanely delicious. -drooling-

  6. Jenice says:

Sounds like a lovely trip with yummy food and onsen! BTW, is the room’s onsen tub outdoors? I got a room with private onsen tub in Hakone last Feb and freezed my butt off when I went to the onsen at night XD

Wow! This looks absolutely amazing and it makes me want to go back to Hokkaido again. When we were there we stayed at the Iruka Hotel. The food was incredible too but your photos look even more fabulous.
