Hokkaido : Jozankei Onsen

Jozankei Onsen is located inside Shikotsu-Toya National Park between the high cliffs of the Toyohira River.
The town is an hour’s drive from Sapporo.
During my roadtrip in Sapporo, i spent a night there. ^^

Here is the view from my hotel [i went at the end of november and there was plenty of snow]

We arrived in the evening so we spent most of the time soaking in the onsen , taking a nap and then it was dinnertime XD
Dinner [omg its also a buffet. i told u, i ate a lot of buffets in Hokkaido lol]

Breakfast [also buffet XD] As you can see, me and the husband do not eat the same things from the buffet hahahahha My husband is australian and is not accustomed to a japanese breakfast.

After all that food, we went for a walk around the town

The area is famous for kappas so there are many kappa statues around.

You can purchase towels from a vending machine nearby but we had actually brought our own towels XD [the hotel had given us a headsup before we went for our walk so we brought towels]

And dont forget to buy some souvenirs!
kappas are the mascots of Jozankei, you can find tons of items with kappas printed on them.
Such as these manju

And these chocolates
