A few months ago, i went on an overnight trip with a friend.
We stayed in Kawaba, Gunma at Hotel SL.
FYI Gunma is a prefecture outside of Tokyo and takes around 2hrs by car.
We had dinner in the hotel
It was shabu shabu [here are the vegetables]
Pork! Locally produced. [sorry to those who are vegetarians]
Local delicacy [konnyaku with miso]
Homemade tofu [omg so good]
After our luxurious meal, we went for a big nap [we are such pigs]
Then we went for a lovely soak in the onsen.
Word to the wise, the rooms in this hotel does not come with showers. You have to use the onsen/bath area. if you are not comfortable with this, you might not want to stay here.
The breakfast provided [its a heck load of food]
All in all, we had a really good time at this hotel. If you get the chance [or in the area] check it out!
So why is this hotel called Hotel SL?
Yup, there is a SL D51 parked next to it. If you wish to have a ride on it, you can sign up at the railway museum next to it.
This hotel is mere minutes from a beautiful village known as Denenplaza Kawaba.
Thats my post for another day
