When I was younger, i hated sightseeing. All i wanted to do was go shopping haha. Now that i am older, i think i begin to appreciate sightseeing a lot more. I still love to shop of course [dont forget the food]

Anyhow, a few weeks ago i was in Matsumoto [see last week's blog entry on the amazingly beautiful Matsumoto Castle] so i took a side trip to Daio Wasabi Farm (大王わさび農場), based on my sister + bro-in-law’s recommendation.

During Golden week [a series of public holidays in Japan], i went on a family road trip and one of the places i visited was Matsumoto-jo aka Matsumoto Castle.

It is located in Matsumoto [Nagano Prefecture] which is around 2hrs drive from Tokyo.

From their website “Matsumoto Castle is one of four castles designated as ‘National Treasures of Japan’ and the oldest castle remaining in Japan. Construction began in 1592 of the elegant black and white structure with its three turrets. Because of the elegant black walls, Matsumoto Castle is sometimes called ‘Crow Castle’.”
